Feel good about getting a good night’s sleep with a mattress from Avocado

You’ll never feel as good about getting a good night’s sleep as you will with the Avocado Mattress. Joining companies like Casper in its ambition to disrupt the rather sleepy industry is a new New Jersey-based company that “crafts green mattresses by hand with natural and organic materials.” Branded as the “healthy, upscale alternative to ‘bed-in-a-box’ brands and synthetic memory foam products,” Avocado Mattress believes that the only thing that shouldn’t be green is, well, the color of your mattress.

Founded by Alex and Jeff D’Andrea, the startup was motivated by the lack of affordable mattress options that were also safe and non-toxic, and didn’t depend upon petroleum-based polyurethane foam, toxic chemical fire retardants, dangerous pesticides, or off-gassing chemicals. Sounds easy enough, right? Apparently, wrong.

So the duo did what any good entrepreneurs would do — instead of searching fruitlessly for a solution, they created one themselves.

“Avocado’s mission is to make luxury, green mattresses as affordable and accessible as possible,” the team said. Their mattresses are made of 100 percent natural Dunlop latex rubber that come from sustainably-harvested sources, natural New Zealand wool, and certified organic cotton. The mattress’ support layers are constructed using individually-wrapped support coils, which the team says help with support, durability, and flexibility.

While most mattresses contain volatile organic compounds, persistent organic compounds, heavy metals, pesticides, formaldehyde, and phthalates (seriously, it’s a wonder we get any sleep at all), Avocado mattresses promise to be free of all these chemicals. Each and every mattress is designed in the company’s Hoboken headquarters, and then handmade to suit your needs in California.

The mattresses vary in price based on size and style, with the Gwen pillow-top mattress serving as the most expensive model, starting at $1,199, and the Lula 2-Stage Crib Mattress as the most inexpensive option, starting at $449. You can also check out the Reed Mattress, or if you’re just looking for somewhere you rest your head, the Hass Green Pillow. Each and every mattress comes with free shipping, a 100-night sleep trial, optional financing with Affirm, and a 10-year limited warranty.

So sleep well tonight, and feel good about yourself while doing it.

YEEDI S20 Infinity Ultra: redefining what robot vacuums should actually clean
The real problem with robot vacuums is not navigation anymore
Electronics, Speaker

YEEDI S20 Infinity Ultra enters a category that has already refined navigation, mapping, and basic automation to a point where daily dust cleaning is predictable and reliable. The expectation from a robot vacuum today is no longer about whether it can move efficiently through a home, but whether it can handle the kind of mess that defines real, everyday use. Floors accumulate dried spills, sticky residue, and layered grime that cannot be removed through suction or light mopping alone, and these conditions continue to expose a limitation that has persisted across the category. Users still find themselves stepping in before or after a cleaning cycle, either by manually scrubbing problem areas or by running multiple passes to reach an acceptable result, which defeats the purpose of automation in the first place.

This is the gap YEEDI S20 Infinity Ultra is designed to address, approaching robotic cleaning through stain treatment and surface recovery rather than simply increasing suction or expanding coverage. The product’s focus on solving persistent real-world cleaning limitations has also earned it the Digital Spotlight Award, reinforcing its positioning within a category that is increasingly shifting towards more intelligent and outcome-driven automation.

Owning a pool often means enjoying backyard get-togethers, relaxing weekends, and the simple pleasure of a swim on a hot day. But in reality, it also comes with a fair amount of upkeep. In my experience, keeping a pool clean can quickly turn what should feel like downtime into another ongoing chore.
