Nintendo released a new trailer for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, which finally reveals information on the re-release’s new mode. Bowser’s Fury is an entirely new adventure that features a gigantic Bowser.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury is a Nintendo Switch version of the 2013 Wii U game Super Mario 3D World. Nintendo previously revealed that the new edition would feature something called Bowser’s Fury, but this is the first time the mode has been shown in any form.

The two-minute trailer shows Mario navigating an entirely new world, complete with familiar enemies and platforming mechanics from Super Mario 3D World. The mode appears to use more open environments similar to levels in Super Mario Odyssey with cat coins and stars are scattered throughout the stages.

Bowser Jr. appears as a companion in the mode. In the trailer, he follows Mario around in his signature clown car and uses his brush to reveal hidden powerups. It’s not clear if Bowser Jr. is a playable character or computer-controlled.

In the back half of the trailer, a gigantic, inky Bowser emerges from the ocean and starts lobbing fireballs at Mario. The climactic scene ends with Mario getting a powerup that turns him into an enormous version of Cat Mario.

Judging by the trailer, the mode looks like a challenging addition to the original game. Nintendo has yet to share exact details about the mode, which still leaves some questions about how long the adventure is or if it features multiplayer.

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury launches on Nintendo Switch on February 12.

Your next PlayStation upgrade might arrive earlier than expected
Sony PS5 Pro Shot with Blue Light

Rumors surrounding Sony’s next-generation PlayStation console are heating up again, with fresh speculation focusing on the PS6’s launch timeline and hardware specifications. While some analysts believe the next PlayStation may not arrive until 2028 or later, insider Moore’s Law Is Dead (MLID) argues that Sony cannot afford to delay the console any further - even as PS5 sales begin slowing down.

The latest discussion also revolves around concerns over memory costs. According to earlier claims from hardware leaker KeplerL2, Sony may consider reducing the PS6’s memory configuration to keep prices under control. The rumored change would reportedly lower the console’s GDDR7 VRAM from 30GB to 24GB while also shifting from a 160-bit memory bus to a slower 128-bit configuration.
