Is the bigger laptop better? Not necessarily. The 15-inch version of the laptop has 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage while the 13-inch version has 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. That means the real battle here is if you prefer screen space or storage space.
If you have access to ample cloud storage and live with near constant access to WiFi, the 15-inch MacBook is likely better for you. That is, unless having a smaller laptop makes it easier to get out and about.
