And this doesn’t just apply to the Chrome window, but also to all Google sites, social media sites like Facebook, and more. It’s basically a dark mode for all your browsing!

FAQs

Have questions about themes for Google Chrome? We have answers to a few of the most common ones.

How do I get more themes for Google Chrome?

You can visit the Chrome Web Store, select Themes on the left, and then browse the collections. You’ll see new, popular, and seasonal categories on the right. Select View All next to a category to see the additional options.

You can also enter a keyword or phrase in the Search the store box on the top left to find a particular theme.

What is the most used Chrome theme?

While the Chrome Web Store allows you to filter your options by ratings for extensions and themes, you can’t filter by the number of users. However, if you’re curious how many people have installed a particular theme, just look at the top of the detail page at the number of users.

Some themes have millions of users like the Just Black and Morpheon Dark themes above. Space themes are also consistently popular with many raking in close to a half million users. You’ll also see Rose, Slate, and Sea Foam in the Color Themes by Chrome collection with about a million users each.

Remember the adage, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So, find a theme that fits your taste or mood and you can’t go wrong.

Which Chrome theme is easy on the eyes?

Subtle colors and shades are believed to cause less eye strain than bright and vibrant ones. While the Chrome theme you select won’t change the colors on the web pages you visit, try one of the dark themes, a minimalistic option, or one with an understated color scheme.

Also, keep in mind the Dark Reader extension described above. That tool will darken the sites you visit for an added reduction in eye strain when you need it.

How do I make Google Chrome attractive?

The easiest way to make your Google Chrome web browser more aesthetically pleasing to you is to change your background in Chrome. And you can change your background in a variety of ways including: changing the background color, adding a background image, or adding a theme.

Another way to change the appearance of Chrome is to add extensions to it. Extensions can not only change the appearance of Chrome, but can add more functionality to it as well. And there’s all kinds of extensions to choose from. Some extensions do things like block ads, others are designed to boost your productivity, and some are there to change Chrome’s appearance. AI may have just won a literary prize. My heart weeps seeing it poison our love for books.
updated book and AI photo

I had a hard time processing this news. As someone who has been deeply in love with stories since childhood and who grew up on the works of Arthur Conan Doyle, Terry Pratchett, J.R.R. Tolkien, and other such venerable authors, seeing an AI-written story win a prestigious writing award is hard to digest.

If you are unaware, the winners for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize for 2026 were announced, and three of the five winning regional stories have been found to be entirely or partially written by AI. Or at least that seems to be the consensus among readers. As a reader and an amateur fiction writer, this hurt me deeper than any other tale of AI corroding our lives.

AI can pass the Turing Test in live chats and appear more human than us. I am spooked now
UC San Diego researchers found GPT-4.5 was judged human 73% of the time in live conversations

AI can pass the Turing Test in live chats, and the latest result lands with a chill. In a UC San Diego study, GPT-4.5 outperformed real participants at convincing judges there was a person on the other side.

The setup was harder to shrug off than a standard benchmark. Judges reacted to real-time exchanges rather than static prompts, then made a fast call based on conversation alone.
