Toshiba is upping the ante in entertainment notebooks, announcing its new Qosmio F755 3D notebook sports auto-stereoscopic display technology that enables users to experience 3D content without those awkward, bulky 3D glasses. Moreover, users will be able to display 3D and 2D content at the same time on the same display.

“The Qosmio F755 3D laptop is not just a breakthrough in mobile entertainment, but a great example of Toshiba’s ongoing commitment to turning technology innovation into real, usable products,” said Toshiba America Information Systems’ VP of product development Carl Pinto, in a statement. “We are excited to bring this cutting-edge technology to consumers, as there’s really nothing like it.”

The Qosmio F755 will feature a 15.6-inch display that uses double parallax image display to send two sets of images at the same time, splitting the display between the right and left eye to get a 3D effect. The system uses the notebook’s built-in webcam to detect the position and motion of the user and tune the image display to their distance and position. As a result, the display can handle both 2D and 3D content at the same time: users can view 3D games, images, or video full-screen, or condense it down into a window and work in a 2D app at the same time. Toshiba has also bundled in “one-click” 3D up-conversion for 2D content, so users can watch their existing Blu-ray or DVD 2D content with 3D effects.

Under the hood, the Qosmio F755 packs a punch with a second-generation Intel Core i7 processor, Nvidia GeForce 540M graphics, and a 750 MB hard drive. The system sports HDMI output for pushing content to a big screen (the sans-glasses 3D thing won’t work there), along with harman/kardon audio and a built-in Blu-ray rewriteable drive.

Toshiba says the Qosmio F755 will be available mid-August at prices starting at $1,699.99.

Microsoft is offering freebies with Windows 11

Microsoft is suddenly being a lot more generous with Windows laptops, and the timing is kind of hard not to notice. If you're an eligible US college student, buying a Windows 11 PC can get you a year of Microsoft 365 Premium, a year of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and a custom Xbox Wireless Controller through Xbox Design Lab.

This is the whole Microsoft package, with benefits adding up to $500 in value. This offer is running through June 30, 2026, or till supplies last. It is available through Microsoft, major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart, and participating PC makers, including Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Surface.

I used a MacBook Air for 3 years, but the Galaxy Book6 Pro now has my loyalty
Computer, Electronics, Laptop

All my life, I've been an Apple user. iPhones, MacBooks, AirPods — if Apple made it, I had it. So yes, you can probably imagine the kind of loyalty I had for the ecosystem. Switching to anything else? Never even crossed my mind. But people change, and so did I.

I've been using the MacBook Air M2 for three years now, and honestly, it's been great. But only recently did Samsung launch the Galaxy Book6 Pro, and something just magnetically pulled me towards it. You'll know exactly why it caught my attention, and who knows, maybe it'll catch yours too.
