Some 25 years after the debut of the original, Acura has finally and officially released the second-generation of its NSX supercar. Inside an aluminum space-frame chassis you get a dual zone hybrid powertrain, similar to the BMW i8. Driving the rear wheels is a mid-engine, twin-turbo V6 bolted to a nine-speed dual clutch transmission, and an electric motor. The NSX also has two more electric motors in the front, delivering what Acura calls its Sport Hybrid Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive package. Now, what kind of power does this hybrid, tarmac tearing supercar make? Sadly, Acura won’t yet exactly say, telling us it will have around 550 horsepower. Expect the 2016 NSX to go for around one hundred fifty thousand dollars.
Just like presidential elections, it’s never too early to speculate about what Apple will unveil with its next version of the iPhone. Despite previous quarrels, Apple and Samsung will reportedly work together on an A9 processor for the iPhone 6S. Samsung reportedly started production on it in mid-December, based on reports from Korea’s ET News. Additionally, a report from G4Games hints that the iPhone 6S will have a 3D pressure sensor built in to enable a new Force Touch action. Force Touch is the new Apple Watch feature that distinguishes between short taps and long, harder touches. Taiwanese media hints that Apple may finally boost the RAM on the iPhone 6S. The next-gen iPhone may pack in as much as 2GigaBites of RAM to double the devices bandwidth. Of course, we’ve heard this one before and nothing came of it.
On the heels of last month’s Sony hack, the U.S. and U.K. governments are announcing a defense plan that sounds like it’s straight from Hollywood. The first of the ‘cyber war games’ is likely to take place later this year, with a simulated attack on each country’s financial centers. Organized by a newly formed “cyber cell” operated by both nations, the simulated cyber-attacks will be conducted with the full co-operation of Wall Street and the Bank of England.
