Assassin’s Creed Unity release delayed to November 11

The next grand adventure in Ubisoft’s time-traveling Assassin’s Creed franchise needs a few extra weeks to come together, the publisher confirms. Assassin’s Creed Unity is now set to release on November 11 in the United States and on November 13 in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. That’s a push back from the previously confirmed October 28 launch.

“As we got close to the finish, we realized we were near the target but still needed a bit more time to hone some of the details to make sure Assassin’s Creed Unity is exceptional,” Ubisoft senior producer Vincent Pontbriand said in a prepared statement. “We sincerely appreciate players’ commitment to the game and their patience. It’s just a couple more weeks. And it’s going to be worth it.”

Unity sets its sights on French Revolution-era Paris, with protagonist Arno Dorian taking on the Templars in the midst of the tumultuous socio-political disorder that this particular period of history is known for. Arno is a native Frenchman, born to an Assassin father in Versailles. When dad is killed, Arno is taken in by a family that has significant connections to the Templar Order. Tough situation. He eventually ends up allying himself with the Assassins, but the how and why of it remain a mystery.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is only coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The older consoles get Assassin’s Creed Rogue instead, and that release date — already set for November 11 — remains unchanged.

Valve has officially raised the prices of the Steam Deck OLED in the US and several other global markets, and the increases are substantial. The move makes the company the latest major gaming platform holder to hike hardware pricing amid rising component costs and ongoing global economic pressures.

The biggest shock comes from the higher-end models. The 1TB Steam Deck OLED now costs $950 in the US, up from its original $650 launch price. Meanwhile, the 512GB OLED version has jumped from $550 to $790.
