Resident Evil 3: Nemesis remake is all but confirmed as images pop up online

This year’s Resident Evil 2 remake was an enormous success for Capcom, introducing a new generation of players to the Raccoon City incident with a brand-new control scheme and updated gameplay. It should be no surprise that Capcom is going forward with a full remake of the third game — Resident Evil 3: Nemesis — and images hosted on Sony’s servers appear to confirm it.

Posters for a Resident Evil 3 remake were discovered by the game tracker Gamstat, which catalogs additions made to the PlayStation Network. Among these are Biohazard RE: 3 and Biohazard RE: 3 Z Version, both of which feature the Nemesis villain. Biohazard is what the Resident Evil series is called in Japan, and was itself the subtitle for Resident Evil 7 in the rest of the world.

The Resident Evil 3 version of the poster is also available on the site, as is Resident Evil Resistance, which was previously teased under the title Project Resistance. Unlike the main games, it’s a multiplayer game that pits one player in control of hazards and creatures against a team of players trying to survive. A closed beta was held earlier this year, and it doesn’t appear to have any direct connection to the other games.

Like the first two games in the series, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was originally released on the PlayStation. It later came to other platforms, including PC and the GameCube. Though not as critically acclaimed as its predecessors, it still received strong reviews and stands as an excellent take on the survival-horror genre. The game saw the return of Jill Valentine as a protagonist — she first appeared in the original Resident Evil.

Capcom certainly has plenty more Resident Evil games that could be given the full remake treatment in its excellent RE Engine. Resident Evil: Code — Veronica is arguably more crucial to the main storyline than Resident Evil 3. Resident Evil 4, of course, is considered one of the greatest horror games ever made, but even its visuals and controls could receive retooling in order to fall more in line with the Resident Evil 2 remake style.

We expect to hear more on Resident Evil 3 very soon, potentially during The Game Awards on December 12. If you are near a participating Cinemark theater, you may be able to watch the awards with fellow video game fans on the big screen.

MSI’s Triple Mode OLED monitor is a Computex showstopper and my eyes genuinely can’t wait for it
MSI's Triple Mode OLED raises the bar for gaming monitors at Computex 2026.
Computer Hardware, Electronics, Hardware

Dual-mode gaming monitors have been around long enough that the novelty has worn off. MSI has decided that two modes simply aren't enough and has unveiled the MPG OLED 322URDX36 ahead of Computex 2026.

It is the world's first Triple Mode gaming monitor, and if the execution is as good as it sounds, it could be one of the few gaming monitors that I’d be genuinely interested in.

PS4 and Xbox One players are getting booted from Call of Duty: Warzone soon
Existing PS4 and Xbox One players can access Warzone until Black Ops 7 Season 06 ends
Call of Duty video game

Call of Duty players on previous-generation consoles can’t seem to catch a break. First, Activision announced that the next Call of Duty, which we now know is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, will not be released on PS4 and Xbox One. Now, the company is also taking Call of Duty: Warzone away from both older consoles.

The publisher has confirmed that Warzone support on PS4 and Xbox One will be reduced in stages before ending later this year. The first step begins on June 4, when Warzone will be removed from the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One digital storefronts. After that, new downloads will no longer be available on either platform.
