Sweet dreams are made of these: Casper introduces a dog mattress

Every dog has its day, and that day has arrived for your four-legged friend. Casper, a startup known for its mattresses, sheets, and pillows, has expanded into products for dogs. The company has launched the Casper dog mattress, so your pet may now (finally) find a bed it likes more than yours.

Like Casper’s mattresses for humans, the dog mattress is designed for comfort. It uses pressure-relieving memory foam and durable support foam, not to mention a shape that is comfortable for a dog’s entire body. Since dogs have different needs than their masters, the company researched their innate sleeping and nesting behaviors. Based on their findings, Casper came up with a loose fabric surface that will withstand your dog’s attempts to dig or den-build.

“For almost two years, we studied the sleep patterns of dogs of all shapes and sizes. We even worked with a dog psychologist to learn more about canine behavior and used scanning electron microscopy to understand the interaction of different dog furs with different textiles,” said Jeff Chapin, the company’s co-founder and chief product officer, in a statement. “After developing dozens of prototypes, we finally found the perfect combination of materials to create a mattress that every dog loves to sleep on.”

As a nod to dog owners, the cover is machine-washable, which allows for easy clean-up of any shedding or mess. On top of that, it is meant to last; the cover is durable enough to handle biting or scratching.

Since dogs come in different sizes, so does Casper’s dog mattress. You can buy it in small, medium, or large, which hold dogs of up to 30, 60, and 90 pounds, respectively. Prices range from $125 to $225, and you can choose from gray, blue, and taupe.

Although Google didn’t make a big announcement out of it, the latest Google Home update is perhaps one of the most significant ones in my recent memory.

It covers Gemini for home, the camera interface, and the media controls, improvements that might feel incremental individually, but collectively, it points to a future for AI-infused Google Home.
