At this year’s Mobile World Congress—an annual expose of the latest innovations in the mobile world that will take place later this month—LG announced that it will showcase its new Optimus L Series II, a line of phones they say continue the company’s tradition of sleek design and cutting edge innovation. The phone designs will stay true to the original Optimus L Series, but with noticeable improvements.

The company said that that the four major new design elements it focused on with this series are “seamless layout, laser cut contour, radiant rear design, and smart LED lighting on the home button.”

Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said of the new line: “LG has a history of pushing the envelope when it comes to style and Optimus L Series 2 builds on this heritage of design innovation. By evolving the sophisticated style and premium features of the original Optimus L Series, its sequel is expected to continue the popularity of the L Series around the world.”

Some of the key features each phone will have:

  • QuickMemo: This allows users to use their fingertips to take down and then share handwritten ideas on their phone.
  • Quick Button: This allows users to customize the quick launch of apps, like the camera, browser, or music player, using a hotkey.
  • Safety Care: This lets users program three options – emergency call forwarding, phone non-usage notice, and my location notice – in the event of an emergency.
  • Dual SIM: This will benefit those that use their phones for both business and personal reasons, so the two worlds can be kept separate.

The first of the phones will debut in Russia later this week. There’s no word as to when the other models will be released, or when they’ll make their way to the U.S.
