You will believe a car can fly in the Super Bowl teaser for Furious 7

Just when you thought you’d seen a car do everything, the Super Bowl teaser for Furious 7 has Vin Diesel drive one out the window of a skyscraper, fly through the sky, and crash the car through the window of another skyscraper.

At this point, the Fast & Furious franchise is giving the Marvel Studios movie-verse some serious competition as Hollywood’s greatest superhero franchise.

The new preview, which clocks in at just over a minute and features quite a bit of new footage from the upcoming film, reiterates the “family first” theme established over the previous six films in the series while offering up some impressive action sequences. Picking up where Fast & Furious 6 left off, Furious 7 follows Dominic Toretto (diesel), Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker), and their ragtag family of stunt drivers and former criminals as they confront a new deadly threat in the form of Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham), the brother of the mercenary they killed in the previous film.

Directed by James Wan (Insidious), the film reunites series stars Diesel and Walker (who died during filming but was added to the remainder of the film through the use of body doubles and digital effects) with returning cast members Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky, and Lucas Black. Along with Statham, the film also features new characters played by Kurt Russell, Tony Jaa, and Djimon Hounsou.

Furious 7 hits theaters April 3.
