Eminem takes on Trump, his supporters with new ‘Campaign Speech’ song

Eminem is “Chuck Norris with a thesaurus” — just listen to his new song. The rapper revealed in a tweet today that he is working on a new album and also offered up a new track, Campaign Speech.

Described by Eminem as “something meaningful,” the nearly eight-minute-long song touches on a number of political issues, from excessive force to the abortion. Not surprisingly, the 2016 presidential election is worked into the stanzas as well. Eminem specifically calls out the Trump campaign, making it clear that he thinks Donald Trump as president is a scary prospect.

In one section, he raps:

“Consider me a dangerous man/ But you should be afraid of this dang candidate/ You say Trump don’t kiss ass like a puppet?/ ‘Cause he runs his campaign with his own cash for the funding?/ And that’s what you wanted?/ A f–kin’ loose cannon who’s blunt with his hand on the button/ Who doesn’t have to answer to no one?/ Great idea!”

Don’t expect it to stick strictly to serious topics, though. The rapper shares what would be his first order of business if he were elected president, and it’s not fixing the economy or defeating the Islamic State group — it’s banning condoms. Obviously, we all have our own ideas of what will make America great again.

Campaign Speech seems to take a “less is more” approach. Most of the track is accompaniment-free, with the rapper letting his rhymes do it all. He manages to cover a lot of ground (and much of the thesaurus) with them, all while name-dropping the likes of actors Edward Norton, Stacey Dash, and Rock Hudson; NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick; author Agatha Christie; sports anchor Molly Qerim, and more.

It’s clear there will be a lot in store for us when his new album drops — whenever that may be.
