Motörhead’s official YouTube channel is to live stream its former frontman Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister’s funeral.

The iconic rock star will be laid to rest in Hollywood on Saturday, January 9, as part of a private ceremony for friends and family. Motörhead, however, envision the live stream as an opportunity for everyone to pay tribute to their legendary frontman.

A statement on the band’s Facebook page states that the event will be broadcast live from Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Hollywood at 3 p.m. PST, coming to a close at 4.30 p.m.

“We want you ALL to be a part of this memorial service,” the band wrote. “So wherever you are, PLEASE get together and watch with fellow Motörheadbangers and friends. GO to your favorite bar, or your favorite club, make sure they have access to an Internet connection and toast along with us. Or simply invite your pals around and celebrate Lemm’s life at home.”

There will also be extensive celebrations of Lemmy’s life at some of the rocker’s favourite haunts along the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, reports The Guardian. The Rainbow Bar and Grill is due to hold a private memorial service between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday, additional public events will take place at The Roxy and Whisky A Go Go.

Kilmister passed away on December 28 at the age of 70. His death was attributed to an aggressive form of cancer. Best known for their rock anthem Ace of Spades, Lemmy’s leadership of the British band oversaw the release of 22 records. The rock god also collaborated on tracks with The Damned (I Just Can’t Be Happy Today), Slash (Doctor Alibi), and Dave Grohl’s metal side-project, Probot (Shake Your Blood). The current Motörhead lineup, of which Kilmister was the sole original member, claim that they will no longer tour or record under the group’s name.
