Singapore’s urban center is on the rise and various firms are on the move to meet the needs of the growing urban populace. Enter international practice Safdie Architects, and their design for a 38-story residential complex in the Bishan district.
Not only will the proposed project seek to satisfy the needs of the growing urban center, but it will also aim to provide family and community spaces for its residents. Amenities, like lush gardens, envelop the two buildings, bridges, and outdoor terraces, which also feature a group of communal swimming pools. Inhabitants have access to open-air pathways at three different elevations with panoramic views surrounding the tropical landscape, in addition to personal outdoor gardens. A matrix of balconies propagate air movement and cross ventilation between the canyon-like void separating each tower.
At base level, residents can enter through a series of walking paths alongside various gardens and pools. While daylight can easily permeate the area thanks to the condominiums open form design. The close proximity to the adjacent Bishan park also provides residents with various opportunities for recreation.
