Lensbaby Trio 28 offers 3 creative optics for photographers

Add as a preferred source on Google

Today Lensbaby announced its newest lens for mirrorless camera photographers and enthusiasts, the Lensbaby Trio 28. The Trio 28 promises to deliver great image quality along with the creative flare that Lensbaby glass is known for. The Trio 28 features three selective focus optics in one compact lens. Best of all the trio 28 was made specifically for mirrorless shooters.

The Lensbaby Trio 28 offers photographers a wide-angle 28mm focal length and a respectable fixed F/3.5 aperture. The Trio 28 offers three Optics for three unique effects — Twist, Velvet, and Sweet. Each of the optical effects can be selected by rotating a dial to switch between them. Twist gives photographers a true Petzval optic design, giving you a large sharp central area of focus surrounding by twisty, swirling bokeh. Velvet has a sharp yet dreamy central area of focus with delicate glow from edge to edge. Sweet creates a sharp central sweet spot of focus surrounded by gradually increasing blur.

The Lensbaby Trio 28 is a quality-constructed optic that features 4 multi-coated elements in 3 groups for the Twist Optic; 3 multi-coated elements in 2 groups for the Velvet Optic; and 3 multi-coated elements in 3 groups for the Sweet Optic. The Trio 28 also has 46mm front threads to add lens filters (which may be necessary when shooting outdoors due to the fixed F/3.5 aperture).

Lensbaby has long made a name for itself by offering photographers lenses that were built with creativity in mind, and the firm’s continued dedication to creative photography shines through in the Lensbaby Trio 28. The Lensbaby Trio 28 will be available in three mounts including Micro Four-Thirds, Fuji X-mount, and Sony’s E-mount.

Full-frame shooters using Sony’s a7 line mirrorless cameras can still use the Trio 28, however, they should expect the Twist optic to produce subtle vignetting around their subjects. The Trio28 will be available starting October 26, 2016 and has a street price of $280.

Google releases big v4.0 update for its popular Snapseed editing app on Android
Electronics, Phone, Mobile Phone

After years of sitting on its hands, Google appears to have remembered it owns one of the best photo editing apps on mobile. Snapseed 4.0 is now rolling out to Android, bringing the platform up to speed after a stretch of iOS exclusivity that left Android users watching from the sidelines.

The story starts last June, when Google quietly broke Snapseed out of its long dormancy with a significant 3.0 update for iPhone. It was a surprise move that suggested the company was serious about the app again. Google then confirmed at the start of this year that Android wouldn't be left behind for long, and true to that word, the Play Store listing has now been updated to reflect version 4.0 — skipping straight past 3.0 for Android users and landing both platforms on the same version simultaneously.
