Fujifilm TCL-X100 tele-conversion lens increases fixed focal length of X100, X100S

For owners of Fujifilm X100 and X100S cameras, there’s a new tele-conversion lens to supplement the fixed f/2 lens. The new TCL-X100 attaches directly onto the camera and increases the fixed focal length by approximately 1.4x, converting it from 23mm to a 33mm fixed focal length.

Offering a high optical quality seen in other Fujinon lenses, the TCL-X100 delivers high-resolution images, even at the wide f/2 aperture setting. A coating on the lens helps decrease the amount of ghosting and flare. The TCL-X100 is fully compatible with the hybrid viewfinder of the X100 and X100S cameras and retains the autofocusing speed, while offering a 5.5-inch macro shooting distance. Users can choose their desired field of view level. The only requirement is that the cameras’ firmware need to be upgraded to their latest versions.

The TCL-X100 has been manufactured using the same materials, textures, and finishes as the X100 and X100S. The TCL-X100 will be available in May 2014, for $350.

Both the X100 and X100S were incredibly well received in our reviews, with the X100S earning our Editors’ Choice recognition.

Sony is halting sales of memory cards and you have AI to blame for it
Global memory shortages driven by AI demand are now hitting cameras and storage cards.
Sony SD Card

Sony has hit pause on a major part of its storage business, and not-so-surprisingly, AI is one of the reasons behind it. The company has officially announced that it is temporarily suspending orders for most of its CFexpress and SD memory cards, citing a global shortage of semiconductor memory.

The suspension applies to both retailers and direct customers, and there’s currently no clear timeline for when sales will resume. This isn’t just a minor supply hiccup. Instead, it’s a sign of a much bigger problem brewing across the tech industry.
