Designed to blend into the background of any iMac desktop setup, Iomega‘s new Mac Companion Hard Drive sits unassumingly at the base of the iMac. A brushed silver exterior circles the drive and matches the shading on the iMac stand. The drive comes with either 2TB or 3TB storage depending on the model.  The 3.5-inch hard drive runs at 7,200 RPM and comes with one FireWire 800, one conversion FireWire 400-800 as well as one USB 2.0 cable to connect to the iMac along with other compatible devices. On the outside of the drive, the consumer will find two FireWire 800 ports, one USB 2.0 port as well as a two port integrated USB 2.0 hub. The USB port is also a 2.1 Amp hookup for charging other Apple devices like the iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad

If all four LED lights are lit up in white, the user has utilized less than 20 percent of the capacity. Three LEDs in white means capacity is between 20 to 40 percent, two white LEDs translates to 40 to 60 percent, one white LED means 60 to 80 percent and one red LED offers a warning that the user has less than 20 percent space left on the drive.

In addition to the  hardware, the drive also comes with Iomega Protection Suite, Mac Edition. This includes QuikProtect for scheduling backups of important files and MozyHome Online Backup for 2GB of cloud storage. The Iomega Mac Companion Hard Drive costs $195.00 for the 2TB model and $295.00 for the 3TB model. For the initial launch, the Mac Companion Hard Drive will be available only in Apple retail stores as well as Apple’s website. Later this month, consumers will be able to find the drive on the official Iomega site as well as other retailers.

Apple’s most affordable iPad is gearing up for a meaningful refresh in a few months. This time, it looks like the changes run deeper than a simple silicon upgrade.

Android tablets and foldables are getting an utterly useful Chrome upgrade
Chrome's new bookmarks bar finally brings Android tablets the one desktop browsing feature power users never knew they were missing.
Chrome tips

Google is rolling out a bookmarks bar for Chrome users on Android tablets and foldables (basically, large-screen devices) with Chrome version 146. The feature might sound familiar, as it has been available on Chrome for desktop for years.

As seen on desktop, the bookmarks bar appears below the omnibox, spanning the full width of the screen and showcasing favicons alongside site names, while a right-facing chevron handles overflow. Long-pressing a bookmark reveals its full URL.
