Buy an Apple, Samsung, or LG phone at T-Mobile and get up to 50 percent off a tablet

On the heels of T-Mobile’s announcement that you can now stream 100 different services via Binge On and Music Freedom without them counting against your data, the carrier is now giving you a chance to get a connected tablet at an amazing price.

Starting tomorrow, if you purchase a flagship smartphone from either Apple, Samsung, or LG, you can also grab a tablet from the same brand at 50 percent off or a discount of $200, whichever is greater.

For phones, you have your choice of any iPhone, Samsung’s Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus, S7, S7 Edge, Note 4, or Note 5, and LG’s V10.

If you purchase an iPhone, you’ll get $200 off any iPad. A few examples are the 12.9-inch iPad Pro 128GB for $880 (reg $1080), 9.7-inch iPad Pro 128GB for $680 (reg $880), iPad Air 2 64GB for $430 (reg $630), or the iPad Mini 4 64GB for $430 (reg $630).

Choose a Samsung phone and get the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 for $160 (reg. $320) or the Tab S2 for $450 (reg $650). Lastly, if you choose the LG V10, you can grab the G Pad F 8.0 for only $120 (reg $240).

This is a very good deal, but there are a few caveats. The first is that you’ll need to sign up for the equipment installment plan (EIP), which means you will pay off both devices over 24 monthly payments. Also, in order to get the unlimited data streaming from the Binge On service on your tablet, you’ll need to sign up for the 6GB per month plan, which costs $35 a month. Lastly, you won’t receive your savings right away. It’ll come in the form of a prepaid card that will take up to eight weeks to arrive in the mail.

If you’re not already a customer of T-Mobile and need a little more enticement, the carrier also announced a new family plan in which you can grab four lines with unlimited talk, text, and up to 10GB of LTE data per line (no sharing) for only $35 per month. You can also opt for the unlimited plan, which will run $50 per month per line for the same family of four.

These deals will be offered for a limited time, but T-Mobile didn’t specify an end date. They are available at T-Mobile stores, authorized dealers, 1-800-T-Mobile, and through T-Mobile Care. Later in April, they will be available on T-Mobile.com.

Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro review: I swapped my trusty iPad for this and didn’t miss it at all
A rare Android tablet that will make you stick around with it for the long game.
Person using the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro Android tablet.

For years, I've kept a default disclaimer ready whenever I am asked to recommend Android tablets. "It's good/meh, for an Android tablet." That little clarity did a lot of heavy lifting. It excused the issues with laggy apps stretched haphazardly across an oversized screen, the ho-hum firepower, and software that always felt like a phone wearing a costume two sizes too big. So when the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro landed on my desk, I had my disclaimer loaded and ready to unload indiscriminately.

I'll save you the suspense and tell you it never came out. This slate is a genuine powerhouse, the kind of tablet that goes after the iPad Air and the Galaxy Tab S-series without flinching, and then upturns the value debate with its attractive asking price. It runs Qualcomm's top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite, which means it can chew through all kinds of mobile tasks with ease.

A leaked OnePlus tablet could fill Android’s compact flagship gap
Oppo Pad mini launched in China.

Compact Android tablets usually come with a compromise. You can find smaller models easily, but most sit in the mid-range or budget category. The moment you want serious performance in a smaller body, the choices usually shift toward gaming-focused tablets from brands like Lenovo and Red Magic.

That is why the latest OnePlus leak is interesting. Tipster Abhishek Yadav claims OnePlus is working on a compact tablet for global markets with an 8.8-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. The tablet is also tipped to use LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, an 8,000mAh battery, and 67W charging.
