This summer Disney Channel will host the Nintendo Switch Family Showdown, a competition to find a skilled family of Nintendo fans. Games in the competition include Mario Tennis Aces and Super Mario Odyssey, and you must submit a minute-long video professing your love of Nintendo to be eligible.
After nearly two years, ‘Pokémon Go’ finally adds a trading feature
Nearly two years after its initial launch on mobile devices, Niantic's Pokémon Go has finally given players the ability to trade monsters with their friends. The feature comes alongside a new "friends" system, which also gives players the ability to send presents to their friends, and to secure bonuses.
We’re drooling over these tiny wireless Nintendo Switch controllers
Third-party game accessory company 8Bitdo unveiled a new line of tiny controllers compatible with the Nintendo Switch. The gamepads are designed to mimic the look of the Game Boy Pocket and support rumble as well as motion controls, though they don't feature analog sticks due to their size.
Netflix viewers control the story with interactive ‘Minecraft: Story Mode’
Netflix and Telltale Games have partnered to bring an interactive version of Minecraft: Story Mode to the movie and television streaming service. Though not a full game, it will let viewers make choices. The standard version of Minecraft: Story Mode is available on consoles, mobile, and PC.

Dontnod’s upcoming mystery ‘Twin Mirrors’ should appeal to ‘Life is Strange’ fans
Life is Strange and Vampyr developer Dontnot Entertainment have announced Twin Mirror, a dark mystery set in a West Virginia coal town. Like Dontnod's other games, it contains elements of narrative choice and consequences for actions. The game releases for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019.
Ubisoft CEO thinks next generation of consoles will be the last
Ubisoft co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot believes there will only be one more generation of game consoles. In a new interview, he stressed that game streaming technology could make them obsolete, though it remains to be seen if consumers will buy into that logic or stick by their machines.

The Game Awards will celebrate the best in gaming this December
The Game Awards -- produced by Geoff Keighley -- will return in December to Los Angeles. Expect several game announcements in addition to the awards given for 2018's best releases. Last year's show saw The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild take home the top prize in a very close category.
Anime-inspired Soulslike game ‘Code Vein’ starts slicing and dicing this fall
Code Vein, the anime-inspired Soulslike game developed and published by Bandai Namco, will bring its dark and twisted action to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC this September. A collector's edition is also available, containing a figure of one of the game's characters, as well as bonus digital goodies.
‘Hitman 2’ logo leaks ahead of Warner Bros. pre-E3 event
Shortly after IO Interactive and Warner Bros. shared similar teasers about the Hitman franchise, a logo for "Hitman 2" was uncovered on a Warner Bros. site. Although not officially confirmed, it certainly seems as if a proper sequel to 2016's Hitman will be unveiled on June 7 at Warner Bros. pre-E3 event.
‘Destiny 2: Forsaken’ is coming this fall and it could focus on an old enemy
Bungie has revealed the name of the latest expansion for Destiny 2. Destiny 2: Forsaken is coming later this year, and a full reveal of the expansion will take place during an event June 5. It's rumored the expansion could focus on the Fallen enemy type, which have been part of the game since the beginning.
Remastered version of first ‘Borderlands’ could be on the way
A game rating board in South Korea appears to have leaked the existence of Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition, a remastered version of the original, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Follow-ups Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel are already available on the new systems through The Handsome Collection.
Pokémon is coming to Switch this November, will play nice with Pokémon Go
After rumors swirled online for a few weeks, Nintendo and Game Freak have confirmed the existence of Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! The two games arrive to Switch this November, and they offer connectivity with Pokémon Go on mobile phones. A "core" role-playing game will hit Switch next year.
‘Team Sonic Racing’ is coming this winter, will include story mode
Team Sonic Racing -- the successor to Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed -- is coming to the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game includes 15 Sonic characters, online multiplayer, and a story mode. It also supports four-player split-screen play to make your place the destination for parties.
‘Lego DC Super-Villains’ turns the tables, lets you wreak havoc
TT Games and Warner Bros. have officially announced Lego DC Super-Villains, the latest game in the Lego Batman series. It arrives to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC this October, and it gives you the ability to create your very own super-villain with customizable abilities.
‘Mega Man 11’ coming in fall, capping off great year for fans of the Blue Bomber
Mega Man 11, Capcom's long-awaited action-platforming sequel, will release on October 2 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Pre-ordering the game will give you access to an alternate soundtrack, and PlayStation 4 digital purchasers will also get a new theme for their system.
