Prime Day is coming on October 13 — and with it will arrive plenty of Prime Day deals. But that doesn’t mean you can’t take advantage of Amazon’s big sale right day now, as early Prime Day deals are already arriving at full steam, on some of the hottest tech out there.

For example if you snap to it, you can get $30 off Apple AirPods Pro; they’re on sale for $219, down from their regular price of $249. Meanwhile, you can save $49 on an iPad Mini, which is selling for $350, down from $399. These are incredible opportunities to get Apple products for cheap, but better act fast before they’re gone.

Want something that’s a happy medium between a smartphone and a tablet? Look no further. The iPad Mini’s screen is a baby-bear-just-right size, with its phenomenally sharp 7.9-inch Retina display that boasts True Tone and wide color technology. This latest iPad Mini has an A12 Bionic chip, a killer little engine and it’s got all your multitasking needs covered with the latest iPadOS. You can relax any security concerns you had, thanks to Touch ID and the iPad Mini’s fingerprint sensor. With today’s FaceTime and Zoom requirements, something else that will be an everyday lifesaver is the 8MP reverse camera and a 7MP FaceTime HD front camera — offering clear, steady pics and video, all the time. Additionally, this iPad Mini has Apple Pencil support, bringing in a world of design and making this your graphics tablet, too (and kids love it). And, essential for all good mobile devices, it’s not too stressful on the battery. You’ll have up to 10 hours of life on a single charge. We love our phones and our tablets, but we might love the iPad Mini even more.

AirPods Pro — $350, was $399

With active noise cancellation, the AirPods Pro are some of the best true wireless earphones out there, and a huge step forward from the normal AirPods. The noise cancellation is tops, blocking out all surrounding noise, especially wind; and the transparency mode works beautifully, allowing in necessary noise (and they built in a vent to release the pressure that can build up in noise canceling mode). And there are three microphones in each pod, with one of these mics designed specifically to pick up your voice. Design-wise, the AirPods Pro are another leap forward; they’re equipped with interchangeable silicone ear tips that mold the earphones, and their output, directly into your ear’s canal for the best aural experience. They also have Adaptive EQ, so that your podcasts, music, and calls will be customized automatically, corresponding to the shape of your ear. And of course, there’s support for Siri and built-in voice control for all your music and calls and volume. A final selling point: Even with all these features, the battery life is awesome. Apple has upped the battery life to an impressive five hours, backed up with the portable charging case which only requires juice once a day (it lasts up to 24 hours).

After months of rumors and two keynote events in May 2026, Google has finally released Android 17, the stable version. It's rolling out to eligible Pixel devices today, including models in the Pixel 6 lineup, all the way to the latest Pixel 10 series.

Considering all the Android 16 QPR updates and the new ones announced at The Android Show and Google I/O 2026, Android 17 is definitely shaping up to be one of the most ambitious updates the company has shipped in years.

Between Gemini Intelligence that gets things done on your behalf, the new security features, and productivity-based features like App Bubbles, there’s a lot to unpack. The stable update is expected in June or early July 2026, but plenty of the upcoming features are already live on the Android 17 Beta version for compatible Pixel devices.

Boox Go 6 (Gen II) e-reader with stylus

Boox has launched the Go 6 (Gen II), its new 6-inch E Ink reader and the successor to the 2024 Boox Go 6. The new model keeps the small, lightweight format that made the original popular, but adds one major upgrade in the form of note-taking support.

The Go 6 (Gen II) is now available for pre-order through the official Boox shop for $199.99, with shipping expected to begin around June 17. It is still very much a compact travel e-reader, but the stylus support gives it a bit more flexibility than the 2024 model.
