Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary soundtrack goes vinyl (and gets a double-disc remix, too)

Sure, you say you love the Halo franchise, but do you own the very first game’s soundtrack… on vinyl?

As part of the celebration surrounding this week’s ten-year anniversary of Halo: Combat Evolved hitting shelves, the game itself is not only getting a re-release — the appropriately named Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary — the soundtrack is also getting a few tweaks for 2011.

If you’re the sort who has a soft spot for vinyl (or a Halo completist), Sumthing Distribution is offering a limited-edition Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary soundtrack on vinyl that also comes with a download code for digital versions of the tracks. For $24.99. you get the best of both worlds.

Still, if the allure of vinyl isn’t really your thing, there will also be a double-disc remix of the Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary soundtrack ($14.99) that offers re-orchestrated versions of the original score by Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori. The two-disc set features 39 tracks of Halo audio for your listening pleasure.

Both versions of the Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary soundtracks will be released on November 15, ten years after the original Halo: Combat Evolved hit shelves.
