Clique Communications has announced its new CliqueCAM HD Webcams, which offer a flexible gooseneck design so users can position the camera any way they like. Apparently also dubbed the CliqueCAM Hue, the cameras are available in six colors (black, white, blue, pink, green, and red): they can be used attached to their own base, or detached from the base and tossed in a bag for use with a notebook computer. They work with USB 1.1 or 2.0 ports, but USB 2.0 is required for megapixel image captures.

The CliqueCAMs offer a 1.3 megapixel resolution and can capture "HD-like" video at 1,024 by 768 pixels at 30 frames per second. They also feature a one-touch snapshot capability for getting quick photos to send to family or friends (photo resolution can reach 2,560 by 2048 pixels with software enhancement) and include a microphone with noise reduction to enable video chat. The camera software also offer 16 types of special effects, 10 photo frames, face tracking, and a 4× digital zoom.

The CliqueCAMs are priced at $99.99 and run on Windows 2000/XP/Vista or Mac OS X 10.4 or newer, although some features (like face tracking, zoom, and special effects) are Windows-only.
