What’s happened? Spotify users can now follow their favorite venues to get updates on upcoming concerts.

  • The new feature adds to the Concerts Near You playlist launched earlier this year, making it easier for users to discover when they’re favorite artists are playing at a venue near them.
  • In a press release, Spotify explains that the feature will allow users to discover nearby venues and follow them to view scheduled concerts and announcements right from their library.
  • Spotify will also offer tailored suggestions for other venues users might enjoy based on their preferences and allow them to filter upcoming shows at venues by genre.
  • The music streaming service is also changing the update frequency of its Live Events Feed to ensure users have the latest information on upcoming events.

Why is this important? The ability to follow nearby venues will make it easier for users to stay up to date on upcoming concerts.

  • The tailored suggestions will help users discover smaller or lesser-known venues, not just major arenas.
  • With the Live Events Feed now refreshing daily instead of weekly, users will get the latest information on the concerts in their area.
  • This update streamlines the process from discovery to booking tickets, thanks to Spotify’s partnership with Live Nation and Ticketmaster.

Why should I care? The ability to follow nearby venues and find the latest details on upcoming events should make it easier to plan your concert outings without leaving Spotify.

  • By following your favorite venues, you can ensure you never miss an upcoming concert at those locations.
  • The personalized recommendations will help you discover new venues and artists that match your taste.
  • The integrated ticketing experience makes it easy to secure your spot at an upcoming event.

Spotify verified podcast

Soon after adding verified artists badges for music creators, Spotify has not announced verified podcast badges, so you can be sure you are listening to your favorite hosts and not some AI impersonator.

The badge will appear as a light green checkmark on show pages and in search results, signaling that the show has been reviewed for authenticity. Not every show will get the badge right away. Spotify is starting with select shows and will expand over the coming months.
