The final Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer and presale info could arrive this weekend

We’re supposed to be journalists, but as the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens draws nearer, we’re finding it increasingly difficult to hide our fanboy/fangirl glee. And come Monday, Oct. 19, difficult might turn to impossible.

Screen Crush and various other outlets are reporting that the next and final trailer for the film will drop on that date, and if it does, it may just break the internet beyond repair. Ever since Han uttered the words: “Chewie, we’re home,” fans have been aching for more and, though nothing has been officially confirmed, it’s starting to look like they’ll get it.

Making Star Wars echoed the report and added that it has information suggesting the trailer will make its debut during Monday Night Football, when the New York Giants take on the Philadelphia Eagles. It appears that the film’s logo will also be revealed along with the trailer, and we might even get some ticket presale information ahead of the spot.

This is where it gets complicated.

Screen Crush claims to have seen a ticketing document which requires that major U.S. theater chains “have all their ticketing information entered into the system by 8 a.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 16, for release at noon ET to ticketing web sites.” While that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll go on sale then, it certainly suggests that their availability is imminent.

So will tickets go on sale this weekend? Maybe. (Hopefully?)

It’s expected that Lucasfilm and Disney will make an official announcement on the trailer debut and ticket presale prior to Oct. 19, but there’s no official word on when that’s going to happen at this point.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will officially hit theaters Dec. 18, 2015, but there will be limited showings on Dec. 17, including a $50 marathon package at select theaters that begins at 4 a.m. that morning and culminates in a 7 p.m. showing of the franchise’s newest installment.

This is a developing situation, so be sure to stay tuned for updates.

Sixteen years ago, The Social Network turned the origin story of Facebook into one of the most acclaimed films of the century. Now, Aaron Sorkin is back, and this time he is writing and directing. Sony Pictures dropped the first full trailer for The Social Reckoning today, and it is exactly as intense as you would hope.

This is technically not a direct sequel but a companion piece, and it is focused on what happened after Facebook grew from a dorm room idea into a platform that reshaped the world, and not always for the better.
