Advance sales foreshadow huge opening for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

While Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is expected to be a box-office hit, you never truly know how a movie will perform until the numbers start pouring in. That said, Deadline reports that the early ticket sales for this superhero battle royale show dollars stacking up faster than a speeding bullet.

Two weeks out from its March 25, 2016 release, the film is outpacing box-office behemoths like DeadpoolThe Avengers, and Furious 7, which opened to the tune of $132.4 million, $207.4 million, and $147.1 million, respectively. All three of those films have broken box-office records and the last two on the list rank in the top six in terms of all-time box office gross.

Sure, it’s still early, but If you were to race Usain Bolt, Carl Lewis, and Michael Johnson, and you immediately sprinted out to a lead, you’d feel pretty darn good about yourself.

If Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman generates anything north of $152 million on its opening weekend, it will claim the crown for the biggest pre-summer opening weekend of all-time and — at this point — that’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

Though the hard numbers aren’t yet available, one Warner Bros. analyst estimates the film has already generated between $20 and $25 million, a figure that is comparable to the advanced ticket sales for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, which posted a $160 million opening weekend. Driving these early figures are males aged 14-49, who make up a disproportionate chunk of the advance purchases.

All along, the buzz around this film has been akin to the energy surrounding a big-time heavyweight fight and it’s not surprising that the hype is now translating into big bucks. While only time will tell if the film can sustain these massive numbers throughout its theatrical run, the early returns — as a CNN political analyst might say — are looking very good.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters March 25, 2016. Stay tuned for updates.

House of the Dragon season 3 trailer is here, and it is every bit as brutal as we hoped
After two seasons, the Dance of the Dragons looks brutal and bloody

Season 2 of House of the Dragon was a slow-motion tragedy. Seasons 1 and 2 were packed with misunderstandings, power plays, and a civil war that kept threatening to explode but never quite did.

Eight episodes of carefully arranged chess pieces, and by the time the finale arrived, the most dramatic thing that happened was Alicent sneaking off to Dragonstone to strike a secret deal with Rhaenyra to put an end to the Targaryen civil war.

Yellowstone Season 6 isn’t happening — here’s what’s replacing it
The Dutton family will be back
The cast of Yellowstone.

Yellowstone has been a breakout hit for the Paramount Network and remains one of the most-watched shows on television, consistently driving massive viewership and spawning an entire franchise of spin-offs. So when the fifth season wrapped up in 2024, expectations around Yellowstone Season 6 were immediate. Given the show’s popularity, its expanding universe, and multiple unresolved storylines, a continuation felt less like a possibility and more like the obvious next step.
However, Yellowstone Season 6 is not happening—at least not in the way fans originally expected. Yellowstone officially concluded with Season 5, and there has been no confirmation of a traditional sixth season. Instead, what was once expected to be Season 6 has effectively been reworked into a series of spin-offs that continue the story in a different format.
This shift is at the center of ongoing confusion around the future of Yellowstone. Early reports and industry speculation suggested that the show would continue with key characters, particularly Beth and Rip, leading into another season. But as production challenges mounted and key cast changes—most notably the exit of Kevin Costner—reshaped the direction of the series, those plans evolved into a broader franchise strategy.
As a result, Yellowstone Season 6 has effectively been replaced by new shows like Dutton Ranch, which carry forward major storylines without being labeled as a direct continuation. For viewers searching for answers, the key thing to understand is simple: the story isn’t over, but the format has changed.

Is Yellowstone season 6 still happening?
