Get straight to the top tech—no junk, just the best.

Virtual reality hasn’t quite hit the mainstream like some of us expected it to by now, but the technology has reached a level where it could easily become a common household device. The Meta Quest 3 is the most powerful VR headset on the market right now, with tons of mixed reality apps that show the power of the device. Having those additional Meta Quest 3 apps is great for things like work, exercise, and relaxing, but the real potential with VR is in gaming. Not even the PC games with the best graphics can be as immersive as actually inserting yourself into the game with VR. That said, VR games are still new and may not be a very comfortable experience for all, which is why we have rigorously playtested as many Quest games as we could to save you any potential nausea or boredom. Strap on your headset and clear your play space as we explore all the best games on Meta Quest.

If there’s one game released for the Meta Quest 3 that feels like a real example of what VR games can and should be, it’s Asgard’s Wrath 2. It isn’t some watered-down or simplified version of an action RPG that makes compromises on VR, but a game that embraces the platform’s unique advantages to enhance existing game design. There have been a few standout titles in the VR space that have accomplished this, but even among that slim company, Asgard’s Wrath 2 manages to feel like it came from an era where we’ve already overcome all the growing pains of designing for VR. If you want a full-featured RPG with great puzzles, lore, and even strong melee combat, this one title will sell you on the potential of VR.

The free-flow combat of the Arkham games probably sounds like the perfect way to lose your lunch in VR, but Batman: Arkham Shadow manages to translate the reaction and rhythm-based brawling of the series into VR. Unlike the tech demo VR experience we had with Batman years ago, this is a complete game set after Origins and before Asylum. You will explore tight spaces perfect for stealth, use a host of tools, and dismantle tons of goons in satisfying combat. This is easily the best Batman game we’ve gotten since Knight.

The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners has been around for a while now, and a sequel is in the works, but this original title was one of the first examples of a truly impressive and deep VR game that didn’t feel like it was held back by being in VR. There’s no requirement to be familiar with the source material to play this game — only that you want a tense and realistic zombie survival experience. Every stab and bash through the brain you perform is done through your own motion. Add on the crafting and upgrading elements and this is a complete package that has gotten visual and performance upgrades on the Quest 3.

Superhot was already one of the most unique first-person shooters we have ever played. Its “time only moves when you do” concept allows for tactical and precise combat, and its cyberspace storyline presents new information in a novel way. Superhot VR isn’t simply a VR remake. It’s a game created with the VR experience in mind. With full 360-degree tracking, you can look around as you cut enemies down to size and dodge attacks. One might say that this game in VR is super hot in itself.

Yes, we know, everyone expects Beat Saber to appear on any best VR games list there is, but there’s just no way to ignore how good it still is. This game is almost as universally playable as something like Wii Sports, where all you need to know is how to swing your arms  in order to play. The addictive nature of slicing blocks to your favorite song while upping the difficulty and getting into the flow as the lights and sounds surround you is one you can’t pass up if you have the opportunity. Just don’t think about how ridiculous you look to someone outside the headset.

If you would rather fight another person instead of abstract symbols, then Creed: Rise to Glory will be right up your alley. The boxing game is a tie-in to the Rocky and Creed film series, featuring several of the fighters from the movies in a cartoon art style that makes you feel less guilty about slugging them in the face. You must dodge and counter-attack to deliver devastating blows, but your enemies are just as prepared to lay you out on the mat. With Eye of the Tiger playing in your head, you’ll be able to knock out even the toughest and most ridiculous opponents.

You may have played Resident Evil 4 dozens of times already, especially with the latest release being one of the best video game remakes of all time, but stepping into the misty woods and ancient castle in VR will feel like a brand new experience. Not only does the fresh perspective ratchet up the fear, but the new control scheme also contributes to that panicked frenzy as you try and aim, reload, and run for your life. But if you master it, you can pull off moves you never could on a controller.

Yes, we all know the jokes about it being on everything, but Skyrim in VR is another experience that breathes new life into this already massive title. Sure, it’s old, but considering how long we have to wait until the next entry, you might as well fully dive into this game once more. While the combat isn’t going to be much better in VR, that was never really what kept players so invested in the game in the first place. Actually being in that world and getting lost (literally) in the environment is where the game shines. Plus, if you have the power to add in some mods, the sky is the limit.

Sony wants AI to turn your gaming moments into shareable highlights
Sony's new patent could make sharing your gaming highlights as easy as playing the game.
Computer Hardware, Electronics, Hardware

If you have ever gone on an absolute rampage in a multiplayer game and wanted to share it, you know how painful the process is. You record, scrub through footage, clip the moment, edit it, and then finally share it. Sony wants to change all of that, and AI is at the center of it.

As discovered by MP1st, Sony Interactive Entertainment filed a patent application with the USPTO on May 5, 2026, under document ID "12616902," for an AI system that automatically selects your best gaming moments and turns them into shareable highlights, without you lifting a finger.

I hate scalpers, and Valve’s Steam Machine queue is exactly what we need
Valve may have found the right way to sell the Steam Machine
Steam Machine with Steam Controller

I hate scalpers. I especially hate scalpers when they swarm gaming hardware that already has limited availability. They buy it before regular customers and gamers can get a fair shot, and then relist it at cartoonish prices for the people who actually wanted to use it. We've seen this issue time and time again, but Valve's latest move might be the best anti-scalper weapon I've seen in a while.

Steam’s database now suggests Valve may already have a reservation queue system prepared for the upcoming Steam Machine. The discovery reportedly comes from a recent Steam update spotted by user Pepeizq, in which references to multiple Steam Machine packages appeared within the same reservation system code used for the Steam Controller.

Wordle is getting a TV show on NBC, and it already feels like a betrayal
Wordle is becoming an NBC primetime game show in 2027.
Woman playing Wordle on her smartphone.

Every morning, millions of people open Wordle, stare at a blank grid, and spend a few quiet minutes locked in a private battle with the five letters.

There is no host narrating your every move, no studio audience gasping when you waste a guess on a word, and absolutely nobody cheering you on. Just you, the word, and the slightly smug satisfaction of getting it right under three attempts.
