Cyberpunk 2077‘s much anticipated 1.1 patch is now available and addresses several of the game’s bigger bugs. The hotfix is the first of two major patches scheduled to drop this winter.

CD Projekt Red’s patch notes state that the patch aims to improve stability across all platforms. The two overarching changes aim to improve memory usage and fix crashes.

The patch notes mention PlayStation- and Xbox-specific fixes, though they appear to be tied to memory and crashes. It’s not immediately clear if those fixes will clean up some of the game’s unsightly issues like textures failing to load properly or frame rate stuttering.

The update does make a handful of visual tweaks, though they appear to be relatively minor. The patch includes fixes to grenade trajectories appearing in photo mode and cars spawning incorrectly in a specific mission. Significant work has gone into updating the game’s open world and fixing quest bugs. The patch fixes mission-blocking bugs across the game, including players being unable to talk to characters to progress certain quests.

Fan response is already mixed. While some are sending thanks to CD Projekt Red for its work, others are disappointed by the scope of the patch based on the patch notes. The developer painted the update as one of two major updates that’s meant to stabilize the game.

At the moment, it’s not clear if the patch will be enough to get the game back up on the PlayStation Store. Sony delisted Cyberpunk 2077 in December following the game’s buggy launch. The mess prompted Sony, Microsoft, and other retailers to offer full refunds for the game. CD Projekt Red is currently facing multiple lawsuits over the game.

After PS5 price hike, Xbox and Nintendo could be next
Analysts say rising component costs may force more console price increases
Microsoft Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch 2

Sony’s recent PlayStation 5 price hike might not be a one-off. Instead, it could be the start of a wider trend across the gaming industry. Speaking to Eurogamer, Ampere Analysis’ Piers Harding-Rolls suggests it "wouldn’t be a surprise" if Microsoft and Nintendo also raise console prices in the near future.

The reasoning is fairly straightforward: the same factors that forced Sony’s hand, like rising memory costs, supply shortages, and inflation, are affecting the entire industry, not just one company.

Samsung QuantumBlack featured.

QD-OLED monitors are known for delivering deep blacks by turning off individual pixels completely. In real-world use, though, that advantage doesn't always hold up. Ambient light reflecting off the screen can wash out those blacks, but Samsung now has a solution.
