‘Gears of War 4’ gets a special Loot Crate with full game collection, mini-Lancer rifle

Gears of War 4 will likely be Microsoft’s biggest game of the year, bringing fans back to the universe after more than three years. To help drum up the excitement, developer The Coalition has partnered with Loot Crate to launch Gears of War 4: Loot Crate Edition.

Launching the same day as the game, Gears of War 4: Loot Crate Edition includes a full game download code for use on both Xbox One and PC as part of the new “Xbox Play Anywhere” program. But you don’t just get the most recent installment — the code also gives you access to Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3, and Gears of War: Judgment for play on the Xbox One.

In addition to the digital goodies, the bundle also includes “high quality glassware,” a Gears of War hoodie, and a 7-inch Lancer rifle replica. Early pre-orders — as in pre-orders made this week — will also receive a gold lancer pin.

If you want to spend grab the physical items but are more interested in picking up the game at retail, there’s an option for you, as well. A $75 package (the package with the game will cost $130) is also available, which includes everything but the download code.

Microsoft is taking a similar approach with the collector’s edition, or lack thereof, for Gears of War 4. A “Collector’s Statue” set, available both with or without the game, will be offered at retailers, and features a gorgeous figure of JD Fenix on a vehicle, lithographs, and a grenade keychain. A GameStop employee recently told us that a $140 bundle for ReCore, which includes the figure and other goodies but not the game, is also in the retailer’s system. As of now, however, it is not listed on the GameStop website, and may just be a data entry error.
