If you want to stick it to the fascistic rulers of the future by tagging walls on the go, good news: Sega is releasing Jet Set Radio HD on PlayStation Vita this summer. The Vita edition joins the HD re-release already announced for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PCs expected out at the same time. Unique to the Vita edition of the game though is touch screen control for painting graffiti on walls as you skate by.

“The fan reaction to our recent reveal of Jet Set Radio has been incredible,” said Haruki Satomi, head of Sega’s digital division, “As Jet Set Radio is focused on creativity, the touch capabilities of the PlayStation Vita are proving to be a perfect fit.”

Given the Vita’s capabilities, it’s been disappointing so far to see so little of the downloadable content available on PlayStation 3 on the handheld. Sega Dreamcast re-releases like Crazy Taxi, Space Channel 5, and Sonic Adventure are exactly the sort of downloadables that could help beef up Vita’s anemic library. It’s encouraging to see that not only is Sega interested in getting these games on the handheld, they’re planning to add functionality specific to the device in the process.

Best not to go crazy with the touchscreen stuff though. That can get ugly fast.
