Dig for diamonds on the go when Minecraft comes to PS Vita on October 14

UPDATE: Sony has confirmed on the PlayStation Blog that Minecraft PS Vita Edition will arrive in the North American PlayStation Store on Tuesday, October 14 for $20. Retail copies will be available on stores on November 11. Owners of the PS3 edition will simply need to log in to the PlayStation Store on their Vita and download it for free.

ORIGINAL POST: Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition will be available  to download on October 15 in Europe, the port’s developer 4J Studios announced. The studio has also confirmed that there is no date yet for a North American release.

The Vita edition will feature cross-buy with Minecraft on PlayStation 3. The PlayStation 4 edition stands alone, but can be purchased at a reduced cost by owners of the Vita/PS3 edition. Now that Minecraft has been ported to all of the consoles, 4J Studios is now directing its effort towards updating the console releases to the PC 1.6.4 version.
