It was recently confirmed that the next Call of Duty game will not launch on the PS4, putting more pressure on longtime holdouts to finally upgrade. Sony’s Days of Play 2026 sale would have been the perfect opportunity to buy a PS5 at a discount, especially after the recent console price hike. However, according to a new Dealabs report from reliable tipster billbil-kun, that may not be happening this year.

What discounts are expected during Days of Play 2026?

According to billbil-kun, Days of Play 2026 will run from May 27 to June 10. The sale will also overlap with Sony’s next State of Play showcase on June 2, where the company is expected to show more than 60 minutes of updates, including an extended look at Marvel’s Wolverine.

The leaked deals are mostly for accessories, PSVR 2, and a few games. Some DualSense controllers are expected to be €20 cheaper, which would bring them down to €54.99. The DualSense Edge could also see a smaller cut, dropping from €219.99 to €189.99. The PSVR 2 may get one of the bigger discounts, with the price reportedly falling from €449.99 to €349.99. Ghost of Yōtei is also expected to drop from €79.99 to €54.99, while the Pulse Elite headset and Pulse Explore earbuds could get at least €20 off.

PlayStation Plus, which recently went up in price, may also get an extra 5% discount through PlayStation Direct, which can reportedly be combined with Days of Play offers.

Will the PS5 get a discount this year?

The biggest missing deal appears to be the PS5 itself. Unlike previous Days of Play sales, billbil-kun says there is currently no sign of a Sony-backed discount on PS5, PS5 Digital Edition, or PS5 Pro consoles.

That will likely sting more this year because PS5 hardware is already more expensive than it was during last year’s sale. Sony recently raised prices to $649.99/€649.99 for the standard PS5, $599.99/€599.99 for the Digital Edition, and $899.99/€899.99 for the PS5 Pro.

The absence of console discounts may also be tied to rising component costs, especially RAM and NAND chips, which have become more expensive due to strong AI-related demand. Sony has not officially announced the Days of Play 2026 offers yet, but if it follows its usual schedule, confirmation could arrive in the coming days.

A new study has found that adults who play certain video games report feeling less lonely and more emotionally resilient than people who don't play games at all. The findings challenge the idea that gaming is just a way to escape from real life and instead tie specific kinds of games to real, measurable shifts in how people cope with stress and isolation.
