Square Enix will hold its first digital showcase event, called Square Enix Presents, on March 18. The presentation will reveal a new Life is Strange game, as well as news on the Tomb Raider franchise.
The digital show will broadcast on Square Enix’s Twitch and YouTube channels at 10 a.m. PT on Thursday, March 18, and run for 40-minutes. Square Enix calls this the “first show” in a series that will continue throughout the year.
Square Enix will reveal the next chapter of the Life is Strange franchise during the stream. The company didn’t specify whether or not it’s a direct sequel to Life is Strange to or a spinoff. The game features an “all-new protagonist wielding an exciting new power.”
Tomb Raider will get a spotlight during the stream for its 25th anniversary. Square Enix didn’t confirm whether or not a proper game will be shown, but fans are speculating that a collection of older games could be on the horizon.
As for other unannounced games, a new mobile game from the team behind Hitman Go and Lara Croft Go will be revealed. The stream will showcase a few games from Square Enix’s sister company Taito as well.
The stream will largely features updates on current games and upcoming releases. Marvel’s Avengers will make an appearance, though Square Enix didn’t specify if there will be a new character announcement. Outriders, Balan Wonderland, and Just Cause Mobile round out the itinerary. Notably, no Final Fantasy games are mentioned, so fans shouldn’t expect any new updates on Final Fantasy XVI or Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade.
