PlayStation 4 is the only console Street Fighter V will ever appear on, Sony confirms

UPDATE: It’s official. Street Fighter V is coming exclusively to PlayStation 4 and “PC,” as the previously leaked and now official trailer above confirms. Sony’s Adam Boyes noted on stage at PlayStation Experience that PS4 is the only console that SF5 “will ever appear on.”

The PSX keynote also brought the news that Ultra Street Fighter IV is coming to PlayStation 4.

ORIGINAL POST: Street Fighter V is coming, and it’s exclusive to PlayStation 4 and unannounced PC platforms (probably just Windows, given the Windows-only compatibility of Street Fighter IV). Probably. The news comes from what appears to be a leaked trailer that hypes the upcoming release. There’s no release window or anything else at this time.

The trailer, which you can view right here (for now, until it’s pulled), forgoes any looks at gameplay in favor of an inspirational short (that’s the intent, anyway) that talks about harnessing creative energy and pushing past personal barriers, all with Street Fighter-themed imagery playing behind it. The trailer ends with a logo (above) and onscreen text that notes the platform exclusivity.

Capcom, publisher of the Street Fighter series, has yet to publicly address the apparent leak. The official Street Fighter Twitter feed did note series executive producer Yoshinori Ono will be in attendance at the weekend’s PlayStation Experience event. Between that and the onslaught of reveals planned for Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards on December 5, it’s likely that the trailer will be officially available sooner rather than later.

Valve has officially raised the prices of the Steam Deck OLED in the US and several other global markets, and the increases are substantial.
