
The portable audio specialists at Soundmatters have announced two new products to be shown off at next week’s 2013 International CES in Las Vegas. The first is the company’s Dash7 portable Bluetooth speaker. The other is its foxL Duet, and interesting combo featuring a diminutive “palm-sized” subwoofer and the foxL aptX portable speaker. We’ll be paying Soundmatters a visit on the CES show floor, but until then, let’s take a look at what we can expect to see.
The Dash7 – The harmonica-sized speaker is a mini sound bar of sorts, and is said to deliver clean, omnidirectional sound from its bite-sized frame. It connects easily to Bluetooth-enabled devices, provides an enhanced 
The foxL Duet – Though this combo may look best suited to the residents of Lilliput, it is, in fact, built for standard-sized ears. A Linear Magnetic Drive woofer with a dual passive radiator system and 30 watts of built-in amplification help this speaker punch above its weight and hit with bass below the belt. The foxL Duet can handle frequencies as low 38Hz; impressive (if not totally unbelievable) for such a small system. The foxL aptX speaker is representative on its own, but throw in the sub, and you’ve got yourself a portable party. Expect to pay around $350 for the combo.
