The final weekend of April is upon us, and Hulu is celebrating by bringing in No Hard Feelings, the 2023 comedy that gave Jennifer Lawrence her comeback after a long hiatus. This movie spent about 18 months on Netflix, but Hulu will be its exclusive streaming home for at least the same amount of time.

That’s only the first of the three great Hulu movies you need to stream this weekend. Our other picks include a modern classic and a recently released horror film that’s a cut above the rest … literally!

No Hard Feelings (2023)

How far would you go to save yourself from financial ruin? No Hard Feelings really puts Maddie Barker (Jennifer Lawrence) through the wringer. In one fell swoop, she’s set to lose her car and her home without a lifeline. However, she receives an unusual offer from Laird (Matthew Broderick) and Allison Becker (Laura Benanti).

The Becker family is filthy rich, but their college-bound son, Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman), is a social klutz who has never had a real girlfriend. That’s why the Beckers offer to pay Maddie to date Percy — a guy over a decade younger. What Maddie doesn’t realize is that Percy has no romantic game to speak of and isn’t very receptive to her attempts to seduce him.

L.A. Confidential (1997)

In some alternate universe, L.A. Confidential took home Best Picture at the Oscars. This modern noir was easily one of the best movies of the ’90s, and the film that made stars out of Russell Crowe and Guy Pearce. The story is set in the early 1950s in Los Angeles, as someone very powerful makes a play to take over the criminal underworld.

Detective Lieutenant Edmund Exley (Pearce) and Officer Wendell “Bud” White (Russell Crowe) are so wrapped up in their feud with each other that they don’t realize that their separate investigations are not only connected, but key to bringing down the men orchestrating the criminal takeover. Detective Sergeant Jack Vincennes (Kevin Spacey) is also closing in on another aspect of the plot without knowing how close to home it’s going to land. Together, the detectives might be able to put the pieces together, if they live that long.

In a Violent Nature (2024)

In a Violent Nature is one of the rare slasher films that received critical acclaim upon its release. It breaks from some modern traditions by largely taking place from the perspective of the slasher, Johnny (Ry Barrett). He was comfortably dead until a group of friends, including Kris (Andrea Pavlovic) and Colt (Cameron Love), unwittingly stole a locket that had personal meaning for Johnny and supernatural significance.

The film eventually establishes the legend of how Johnny died and why he became a vengeful murderer from beyond the grave. These kids unknowingly kicked the hornet’s nest by awakening Johnny from the afterlife, and he’ll be sending several of his victims there before the end of this horror flick.

Your Netflix app is about to get a social media makeover. The streaming giant confirmed in its Q1 2026 earnings letter to shareholders that a redesigned mobile app with a vertical video discovery feed is arriving by the end of April. "This redesign will better reflect our expanding entertainment offering and make it easier for members to engage how and when they want," the letter reads.

How to stop watching YouTube Shorts?
Phone in hand showing YouTube logo

I’ll be honest — I have zero self-control when it comes to YouTube Shorts. It doesn’t matter if I’m working or casually watching TV; the moment one short grabs my attention, I’m pulled straight into an endless scroll I didn’t really sign up for. And that’s the last thing I need when I’m trying to stay focused. Back in October last year, YouTube introduced a timer to help limit how long you spend on Shorts. It was helpful, but it didn’t quite solve the problem. Now, there’s finally a way to remove Shorts from your feed altogether. I had to try it for myself, and safe to say, it makes a real difference. Here’s how you can get rid of Shorts from your feed and keep the distractions at bay.

How to remove it?

YouTube Premium got harder to justify after its recent price hikes, and YouTube Music Premium also followed soon after. But Google now has a new way to make the bill sting a little less.

The Gemini team just announced a bundle deal that lets users get 50% off YouTube Premium for a whole year. But while this sounds solid on paper, this is not a no-strings-attached promo deal.
