It seems that bad boys running out of time to figure out what they’re going to do, because Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will be coming for them in the near future.

Smith recently spoke with Zane Lowe in the Beats 1 Studio and — besides revealing some interesting Suicide Squad news — the veteran actor suggested that Bad Boys 3 is on its way and that it will be arriving relatively soon.

“There is a very, very, very strong possibility that you will be seeing a Bad Boys within the next 12-16 months” said Smith. The film’s projected release date (February 2017) falls smack dab in the middle of that time frame, so this isn’t huge news, but Hollywood can be fickle, so it’s always best to hear it straight from the horse’s mouth.

Still up in the air, however, is the just who will be blowing s**t up in reckless, high-speed pursuit of lawbreakers. While Martin Lawrence is expected to reprise as Detective Marcus Burnett, Smith hasn’t confirmed that he’ll return as Detective Mike Lowrey.

At some point, you have to think the franchise will inject some new, blue blood into its ongoing game of cops and robbers, but that doesn’t mean that the original duo has to step aside, either.

While the details have yet to come to light, it looks like the bromantic action-comedy franchise will be continuing well into the future. Not only is Bad Boys 3 on the way, Sony has already begun planning for Bad Boys 4. You have to wonder if — a la Lethal Weapon — we’ll eventually hear the phrase “I’m too old for this s**t.”

In the meantime, Smith fans can catch the actor as Dr. Bennet Omalu in Concussion this Christmas, and as Deadshot in Suicide Squad next summer.

Sixteen years ago, The Social Network turned the origin story of Facebook into one of the most acclaimed films of the century. Now, Aaron Sorkin is back, and this time he is writing and directing. This is technically not a direct sequel but a companion piece, and it is focused on what happened after Facebook grew from a dorm room idea into a platform that reshaped the world, and not always for the better.
