After years of playing it safe with the iPhone’s design, Apple appears ready to explore new form factors and more radical design choices. The company has already taken the first step in that direction with the iPhone Air, and signs point to a foldable iPhone as the next big change. Now, it looks like Apple’s design evolution is about to get even more interesting.

According to The Information, Apple plans to release a special-edition iPhone celebrating the device’s 20th anniversary in fall 2027. People involved in the project have told the publication that this model will “feature an enclosure on the front and back that curves around the device’s edges, eliminating the black frame and expanding the screen size.”

Although the report reveals no additional details, the description suggests that the special-edition iPhone could resemble curved-display Android phones from Samsung, Motorola, and Xiaomi. If that’s the case, this design may look spectacular but might not go down well with users.

Visual appeal vs. practical use

Android OEMs are already moving away from this design trend, as curved displays that flow over the edges have often drawn criticism despite their striking appearance. Accidental touches are a major concern, coupled with a higher risk of damage when dropped and limited screen protector compatibility.

It’s also not immediately clear how much of this curved design users will be able to appreciate after they slap a cover on the device. For now, it’s too early to say how Apple plans to tackle the accidental touch and durability issues on the special-edition iPhone.

With the iPhone’s 20th anniversary still two years away, Apple has plenty of time to refine the design and tackle the issues users commonly face on phones with curved displays. How the company handles this could determine whether the special-edition model is celebrated or criticized.

Apple wants Siri to become ChatGPT with an iCloud subscription

Apple’s long-delayed AI overhaul may finally be starting to take shape, and the company appears ready to push Siri far deeper into its ecosystem than before. According to a new report from Mark Gurman, Apple is developing a major Siri upgrade that will synchronize AI conversations across devices through iCloud, turning the assistant into a more persistent and connected AI system inside Apple’s tightly controlled ecosystem.

The upcoming Siri redesign is reportedly being prepared as part of Apple’s broader iOS 27 and iOS 28 strategy, with the company positioning the assistant more directly against AI products like Google Gemini and ChatGPT. Instead of functioning as a simple voice tool, Siri is expected to evolve into a conversational AI assistant capable of maintaining synced chat histories across iPhones, iPads, Macs, and other Apple hardware.

Apple’s next-generation Pro iPhone could arrive with one of the biggest camera upgrades the company has introduced in years. But according to new analyst reports quoted by Forbes, that improvement may also come with a significant increase in manufacturing costs - raising fresh questions about whether future iPhone prices could climb even higher.

The focus of the latest leak is the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, which are expected to debut a new variable aperture camera system. Supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims the upgraded camera module could cost Apple roughly 50 percent more than the camera hardware currently used in its Pro models.

More than the confirmed specifications, I’m concerned about the Indian pricing and the US availability.

Motorola has done something unusual. Before officially unveiling the Edge 70 Pro+ on June 4, 2026, in India, the brand had published all the specifications, pictures, and other marketing material related to the phone on its website.

It’s all there, before the launch, leaving nothing for the rumor mill to speculate about. And it isn’t accidental, because the landing page hasn’t been taken down. It just says that the product is currently out of stock while revealing everything else.
