Samsung’s gorgeous Gear S2 smartwatch is already one of the most stylish ones you can buy. To make it even more desirable, particularly those willing to spend a little extra for one made of precious materials, the company has added two new versions to the range. The first is made in the current must-have color, 18K rose gold plate, and the second is a suave platinum plate.

Arriving on U.S. shores

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, you can grab the 18K rose gold plated Gear S2 Classic, or the platinum version, on February 12 via Amazon, Best Buy, Samsung.com, Macy’s, and other retailers. These premium variants will cost you $450 per watch. As a refresher, the 18K rose gold plated model will get the ivory leather band, while the platinum plated model comes with a black leather strap.

The initial launch of the Gear S2 Classic New Edition began on January 25 in China, with Samsung promising more locations afterwards.

Same design, flashier case and faces

The design remains the same, but the new materials make the textured interactive bezel catch the light in a different way, giving the Gear S2 a jewel-like finish. if you haven’t had the chance to try out the Gear S2 yet, you’ll be amazed at how small, light, and comfortable it is. That hasn’t changed with the new collection.

If the color doesn’t pop enough to make sure everyone knows you’re wearing a new Gear S2, there are four new watch faces made exclusively for them. Accessible with a long press of the screen, they’re made to match the new colors. There are also other new watch faces available across the range, produced by numerous artists and featuring characters including Peanuts.

The rose gold Gear S2 has a leather strap in ivory, and a black leather band is fitted to the platinum model, but each is easily replaceable if you want to change the look. Samsung’s not going to make you wander far to find an alternative strap either, and has launched an extensive new range of custom versions, suited to all the Gear S2 Classic models.

Finally, the new Classic Gear S2 smartwatches will get Samsung Pay support in the U.S. early in 2016, but we’re waiting for a final date.

HIFIMAN Ananda deal

Planar magnetic headphones used to be the kind of thing you'd spend $500 or more to get into. The HIFIMAN Ananda changed that conversation when it launched, and at $249, it moves that conversation further still. That's $150 off its $399 list price for a full-size open-back planar magnetic headphone that competes with options costing considerably more, and it's the deal I'd point any serious listener toward right now.
