The best Huawei Mate 20 Pro cases and covers

Add as a preferred source on Google

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is no longer a spring chicken, but it’s still a powerful phone, and if you bought one at the end of 2018, or even 2019, then it might well still be going strong. If you’re still using your Mate 20 Pro, then it’s highly likely you want to keep using it. As such, a case to keep your phone safe is a must. While a lot of manufacturers have moved away from cases for this older phone, there are still plenty of big names to pick from if you’re looking to guard your smartphone. Here are some of the best Huawei Mate 20 Pro cases and covers.

LoveCases Roses Clear Case

Protection can also come with style, and that’s something LoveCases specializes in. The Roses Clear case combines a clear TPU material with a rather beautiful floral rose print, allowing your phone’s design to show through but also be complemented. It’s a great case if you don’t want to hide your phone away fully, but want to add a little extra style as well. The slim TPU won’t offer the most protection you can buy, but the flexible material will still do a good job at absorbing minor bumps and small drops, while also warding away dirt and scratches. The price is good, so you’re not breaking the bank, so if you’re looking for decent protection and style on a budget, you can do a lot worse than this.

Tech21 Evo Luxe Case

Tech21 likes to style this case as being a little “extra,” but there’s nothing little about the Evo Luxe. A slim and lightweight shell is laid over with faux leather, and built to withstand a wide range of shocks. The faux leather may not be real, but you’d be hard-pressed to tell that’s the case, as it looks great and feels great too. It’s drop-protected up to 12 feet (3.6 meters), making it a seriously tough case and proof against most everyday hazards, and a slightly raised lip around the display and the camera lenses makes sure those areas don’t risk scratches by resting on surfaces. While this used to be an expensive case to get hold of, that’s no longer the case and you can grab this for a real bargain price.

Spigen Neo Hybrid Case

Spigen is one of the biggest names in smartphone protection, and when its cases are as good as the Neo Hybrid, it’s easy to see why. The inner core of TPU is patterned and textured for an elegant herringbone look, while its shock-absorbent qualities make sure it provides good protection against drops and bumps. The bumper around the outside is made from hard polycarbonate, and has been colored to contrast with the darker TPU inner core. It’s a sleek, high-tech-looking case, and while the price is higher than some other cases, it’s worth the investment.

Ringke Fusion-X Rugged Case

Ringke specializes in protection with a unique style, and that’s exactly what the Fusion-X delivers. It’s made from a combination of a hard polycarbonate and softer TPU. Polycarbonate makes up the transparent back panel, which shows off your phone while protecting it from harm, and the TPU bumper adds tactile grip, as well as providing great shock-absorbency. It can back that up with real-world performance too, with certified military-grade drop protection. There’s even a hole for a lanyard or a wrist strap, and the outer edges protrude slightly to protect the screen and camera lens from surfaces.

Noreve Leather Flip Case

There’s not much that’s as sleek and executive as leather, and Noreve provides an excellent example of the level of prestige a case can add. This flip case from Noreve is highly customizable, and you can choose to have it made from a variety of leather or leather-like materials, from affordable synthetic PU leather, all the way up to the extremely luxurious Patine leather, which has been specially aged. Of course, you’ll need to pay more for the more luxury choices, but if you want the best materials around, then Noreve is a good place to go. Plus, you can add a belt clip or a personalized logo if you’re feeling really extravagant.

Otterbox Symmetry Clear Case

Otterbox is one of the go-to names in protective cases, and it’s easy to see why. Otterbox only has the Symmetry Clear Case on offer for the Mate 20 Pro, but don’t make the mistake of thinking you’re not getting good protection for your money. It’s made from a combination of polycarbonate and TPU, so it offers protection against scratches and drops. The single-piece design makes it easy to slip on and off as needed, and the lack of bulk means it’s easy to slip into pockets, too. Otterbox’s Symmetry case isn’t as expensive as it was, but it’s still not a budget option. Still, with an impeccable portfolio of protection, it’s a great choice for protection that doesn’t obscure your phone’s style.

Olixar Ultra-Thin Clear Case

While you may want to keep your phone protected, you probably don’t want to stop anyone from being able to see its beautiful glass design. That’s where this case from Olixar comes in. It’s made from completely clear TPU, so you can always show off your phone’s design. The flexible TPU is protective, and the soft material provides great shock-absorption — and it’s durable too. It’s formed to fit your phone perfectly, and a raised front bezel protects your phone’s display against abrasive surfaces and dirt. It’s basic, and it won’t provide the level of protection a larger case would, but it’s cheap and it gets the job done.

UAG Monarch Series

If you want some serious protection, you need look no further than UAG’s Monarch series. Made from a combination of top-grain leather and metal alloys, the Monarch case boasts five layers of protection and exceeds twice the military standards for drop and shock protection. It has a soft, impact-resistant core as well as a honeycomb traction grip that’ll help you keep hold of your device. There’s even a raised bezel to protect your screen, and oversized button covers. UAG’s so proud of it, the case also comes with a 10-year limited warranty. If you’re outdoors a lot and you need some truly fantastic protection,  you should invest in this case.

Google is preparing a priority charging feature for phones for rush scenarios

Google is working on a priority charging feature designed for moments when you need power quickly. The option, uncovered in Android 17 beta code by Android Authority, focuses on boosting usable battery in a short window without shutting down core phone functions.

Instead of pushing higher charging speeds, the system shifts power toward the battery by dialing back background activity. Calls and texts still come through, but less critical processes pause so more energy goes into charging.
