Peripheral and accessory maker Gefen has introduced a new four-port Wireless USB 2.0 Extender that enables users to locate USB 2.0 peripheral up to 100 feet away from their CPUs without running (lots!) of awkward cable. The extender operates using 802.11 wireless technology, so (in theory!) it shouldn’t interfere with local Wi-Fi networks, cordless phones, or other wireless systems.

Gefen’s wireless extender is compatible with Windows XP/Vista, Mac OS X, and Linux, operates without drivers, and offers a simple one-cable setup on the hosting CPU. Users simply connect the transmitter their CPU’s USB port, and then connect peripherals to the receiver, wherever they want it to be. Both the transmitter and receivers operate off 5 Volt power supplies.

The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D is down to $573.99 in a limited-time deal, a $125 saving off its $699 list price, and it represents something AMD hadn't offered before: a 3D V-Cache processor with a high enough core count to handle demanding creative and professional workloads without sacrificing the gaming performance that cache stacking delivers. For anyone running one machine for everything, this is the processor the 9000 series has been building toward.
