Apple’s long-rumored entry into the foldable smartphone market is finally starting to feel real, but if you are hoping to grab one on day one, you might want to manage your expectations. New reports suggest that actually getting your hands on the first foldable iPhone could be a lot harder than usual. The device, widely called the “iPhone Fold,” is still on track for a debut in late 2026, but supply issues might mean you won’t easily find one on shelves until well into 2027.

iPhone Fold could launch in 2026, but availability may lag

According to trusted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the development of the foldable iPhone has slipped behind Apple’s original internal schedule. Even with the delays, the company is still expected to announce the phone in the second half of 2026, likely sharing the stage with the iPhone 18 lineup during the usual September event. However, Kuo points out that while the announcement is safe, the production is the real headache.

Foldable phones are notoriously tough to build, specifically when it comes to the flexible screens and complex hinges needed to make them durable. Kuo warns that Apple could hit early snags with production yields, meaning the factory lines might move slowly at first. Because of this, stock could be incredibly tight for months after the launch, with smooth supply not really kicking in until sometime in 2027.

It feels a lot like the iPhone X launch back in 2017

That phone brought a massive redesign but was almost impossible to find at first due to manufacturing bottlenecks. If history repeats itself, the iPhone Fold could be a rare unicorn at launch, with long shipping delays for anyone who isn’t lightning-fast with their pre-order.

Leaked specs suggest a premium, “book-style” design similar to the Galaxy Z Fold. We are looking at a 5.25-inch outer screen and a massive 7.8-inch inner display, which would oddly give Apple both its smallest and largest current iPhone screens in one device. Rumors also hint at under-display cameras to keep the look clean, and possibly even a switch back to side-mounted Touch ID instead of Face ID to save space.

Inside, it should run on the next-gen A20 Pro chip, so performance won’t be an issue despite the folding form factor.

The price? Brace yourself. Estimates put it around $2,400 (roughly Rs 2,15,000), which is significantly steeper than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series. That price tag, combined with the scarce supply, means the iPhone Fold will likely be more of a “halo product” than a mass-market hit at first.

For buyers, the takeaway is simple: even if Apple shows off the foldable iPhone in 2026, you will probably need patience. Real availability – where you can just walk into a store and buy one – might not happen until 2027.

Apple wants Siri to become ChatGPT with an iCloud subscription

Apple’s long-delayed AI overhaul may finally be starting to take shape, and the company appears ready to push Siri far deeper into its ecosystem than before. According to a new report from Mark Gurman, Apple is developing a major Siri upgrade that will synchronize AI conversations across devices through iCloud, turning the assistant into a more persistent and connected AI system inside Apple’s tightly controlled ecosystem.

The upcoming Siri redesign is reportedly being prepared as part of Apple’s broader iOS 27 and iOS 28 strategy, with the company positioning the assistant more directly against AI products like Google Gemini and ChatGPT. Instead of functioning as a simple voice tool, Siri is expected to evolve into a conversational AI assistant capable of maintaining synced chat histories across iPhones, iPads, Macs, and other Apple hardware.

Apple’s next-generation Pro iPhone could arrive with one of the biggest camera upgrades the company has introduced in years. But according to new analyst reports quoted by Forbes, that improvement may also come with a significant increase in manufacturing costs - raising fresh questions about whether future iPhone prices could climb even higher.

The focus of the latest leak is the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, which are expected to debut a new variable aperture camera system. Supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims the upgraded camera module could cost Apple roughly 50 percent more than the camera hardware currently used in its Pro models.

More than the confirmed specifications, I’m concerned about the Indian pricing and the US availability.
Electronics, Mobile Phone, Phone

Motorola has done something unusual. Before officially unveiling the Edge 70 Pro+ on June 4, 2026, in India, the brand had published all the specifications, pictures, and other marketing material related to the phone on its website.

It’s all there, before the launch, leaving nothing for the rumor mill to speculate about. And it isn’t accidental, because the landing page hasn’t been taken down. It just says that the product is currently out of stock while revealing everything else.
