Khloe Kardashian cleans up group messaging with an app that polls your friends

Add as a preferred source on Google

Are you trying to make plans with your friends this weekend, but can’t seem to decide on a place to meet up? There’s a new app called Begroupd that wants to help solve all of your problems when it comes to organizing plans with your friends and family members, and it’s backed by none other than Khloe Kardashian.

Although the original idea came from Lindsey Cummins, Khloe Kardashian has been heavily involved in its development.

Lindsey Cummins told Business Insider she came up with the idea after she was having a hard time planning a simple night out with friends.

“My friends are really talkative people, so there’s a lot of clutter and side conversations going on, and needing to scroll through a million messages just get answers was nearly impossible,” Cummins explained. “So I just wanted to create a single place where you could get all that detailed information without needing to open up a bunch of different apps.”

In addition to all the basic messaging functions you’d expect from WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger, Begroupd’s unique feature lets you send a bunch of different options to your friends, and then asks them to vote for their favorite idea. Begroupd tallies all of your friends’ responses, so you can easily see how many votes each option has received. That way, you don’t have to track all of your friends’ answers to figure out the most popular option.

You can also pose yes or no questions, ask for RSVPs to events, request ratings on a scale from 1 to 5, and so on. While most of these polling options are geared toward events, you could also use the ratings and yes/no features to make snap decisions. For example, you could send a picture of a new pair of shoes you’re trying on to all your friends and ask them to rate them, or snap a pic of a few outfits and ask your friends to help you choose for one for a special occasion.

All your friends’ responses are organized neatly into folders: RSVPs, Yes/No, Ratings, etc. You can also see conversation threads instead of just the polls. The organized nature of the app seems to have appealed greatly to Kardashian.

“Everyone knows that feeling of being in a group chat with multiple conversations all over the place,” Kardashian said in a statement. “What I loved about Begroupd is that it sorts through the chaos and saves time by streamlining the decision making process.”

Begroupd is the second mobile app made with the help of a Kardashian. It was just last year that Glu Mobile worked with Kim Kardashian to launch Kim Kardashian: Hollywood game, which was downloaded more than 28 million times.

You can download Begroupd from the App Store here.

Humbling teardown confirms Trump Phone is just a painted-over HTC phone
Electronics, Phone, Mobile Phone

When the Trump Mobile T1 was announced, it arrived wrapped in the kind of marketing language you’d expect from a product tied to Donald Trump: bold claims, patriotic branding, and plenty of references to American values. What wasn’t immediately clear was what made the phone itself special.

Now, thanks to a detailed teardown and CT scan analysis by iFixit, we appear to have an answer. And it’s not exactly the revelation Trump Mobile was probably hoping for. After peeling back the gold-colored exterior, investigators found what looks remarkably like another smartphone already on the market: HTC’s U24 Pro. That’s awkward for a device marketed as something distinct.

NordVPN’s eSIM app could save your real phone number from app spam
Saily eSIM now offers $1 Burner Number

If you're like me and have relied on travel eSIMs, you know the drill. You get access to mobile data abroad without paying the premium your carrier charges for the roaming bill. But more often than not, you're stuck with just data since you don't actually have a proper phone number to use.

But Saily is trying to make traveler eSIMs a lot more useful by actually including a phone number. NordVPN's eSIM app is now letting users get a dedicated US +1 phone number directly through the Saily app. The number subscription starts at $0.99 per month, with separate call and text plans also starting from $0.99. So, for less than a cup of coffee, you get a second number that can be handy for food delivery apps, hotel bookings, ticketing services, online marketplaces, 2FA codes, and all those random forms that ask for your phone number.
