What’s happened? Meta has rolled out a new AI feature that’s about to make the Reels on your feed more global. Now, Facebook and Instagram can automatically translate, dub, and even lip-sync Reels into other languages, giving both creators and audience the power to connect across the world.

  • Currently, this feature supports English, Spanish, Hindi, and Portuguese, with more languages on the way.
  • The best part is that it doesn’t just slap subtitles on. The AI actually recreates the creator’s voice in another language, complete with a natural lip-sync.
  • All translated videos will be labeled “Translated with Meta AI” to inform viewers what’s been modified.
  • Meta AI is free for all creators with public accounts on Instagram. However, on Facebook, this feature is available only to creators with 1,000 followers or more.

This is important because: This move can reshape how we experience global content and social medial.

  • Language won’t be a barrier: A viewer from India can enjoy content made by a Spanish creator without guesswork.
  • Chance to go viral: One language account can now reach millions across the world without extra editing work.
  • Adds a layer of accessibility: People who used to skip foreign language videos can now join the conversation.

Why should I care?

While Meta’s new translation feature could bridge worlds, it also sparks a new wave of “wait, is it actually their voice?” moments on your feed. There are other concerns as well:

  • Translation hiccups: AI can sometimes miss the joke or cultural nuance because not all humor survives translation.
  • Voice cloning concern: The idea of Meta AI mimicking your voice to give it that natural feel certainly raises privacy concern.
  • Trust and transparency: The “translated with Meta AI” is definitely a start, but viewers can’t help but wonder how much of the content is original or true

The auto-translate feature sure looks like the future of content creation but it could also blur the line between what’s real and AI-assisted.

The upcoming features are expected to be unveiled at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June ahead of a public release later this year.

"Hey Siri, create a shortcut for me that snaps a picture of my food, logs the nutritional value, and then reminds me to burn calories after six hours. Please?"

For years, the Shortcuts app on the iPhone has remained one of the most frustrating parts of the user experience. On one hand, it's an utterly powerful app to create automations and perform multi-step tasks in a jiffy. However, the process of creating a shortcut has been pretty complicated and almost a test of patience.

It appears that Apple has finally listened to the feedback of iPhone users and is planning to give a major functional overhaul to the Shortcuts app with the release of iOS 2027. As per  Bloomberg, Apple will finally let users describe the exact shortcut they want, in natural language, and the AI will create it for them.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 deal

Samsung’s foldables have consistently led the market in polish and software, but one complaint has followed the Galaxy Z Fold series for years: battery life. Now, a new leak suggests Samsung may finally be addressing that issue with the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8, alongside camera improvements and a thinner design.

According to a report from Greek publication TechManiacs, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could pack a larger 5,000mAh battery - a notable jump from the 4,400mAh cell used in the Galaxy Z Fold 7. If accurate, this would mark one of the most significant hardware upgrades to Samsung’s book-style foldable lineup in years.
