This is the app you’re looking for: Take selfies with Darth Vader in the official Star Wars app

Add as a preferred source on Google

Unless you’ve been to Comic-Con, you’ve probably never taken a selfie with Darth Vader. But thanks to the new official Star Wars app, you can now pose as Obi-Wan right next to your frenemy Vader. In addition to the hilarious selfie feature, the app has a variety of awesome GIFs and sound bites from the films, and you can train with a lightsaber — just like Luke. Disney’s also packed a load of news about the new movies, teaser trailers, and an augmented reality feature for scanning Star Wars posters.

The Force is strong with this app, and fans will love it.

When you first set it up, you’ll be prompted to make an account, which just requires an email, password, your name, and a few permissions. Once you’ve done that, you can choose your theme: Droid, Light side, or Dark side. There are many avatars to choose from, too, so you can really make this app your own.

If you tap on the weather section at the top of the main page, you can set your location, and the app will tell you how the weather in your location compares to the weather on other planets in the galaxy. New York’s tropical weather matched the planet Kashyyk, which is a very pretty green planet with mountains and lots of mist.

All the fun stuff is located beneath the weather and running news ticker tape. A fabulous collection of GIFs, official videos, sound bites, a selfie cam, and more await you there. Among the coolest features is the Force Trainer, which schools you in how to block blasts with your lightsaber. When you open it, the same little blaster ball Luke fought with on the Millennium Falcon hovers in front of you. The background is your actual environment, so you really feel like you’re in the zone. Imagine this with a VR headset — too cool.

The selfie cam is also pretty hilarious. I posed as Obi-Wan, Princess Leia, and Han Solo in carbonite. You can switch through various characters to accompany you in the shot and change the background. Once you’ve snapped the perfect shot, it’s shareable via Facebook, Twitter, and so on. You can also save it to your camera roll.

If this is the app you’re looking for, you can download it on the App Store and the Google Play Store.

The upcoming features are expected to be unveiled at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June ahead of a public release later this year.

"Hey Siri, create a shortcut for me that snaps a picture of my food, logs the nutritional value, and then reminds me to burn calories after six hours. Please?"

For years, the Shortcuts app on the iPhone has remained one of the most frustrating parts of the user experience. On one hand, it's an utterly powerful app to create automations and perform multi-step tasks in a jiffy. However, the process of creating a shortcut has been pretty complicated and almost a test of patience.

It appears that Apple has finally listened to the feedback of iPhone users and is planning to give a major functional overhaul to the Shortcuts app with the release of iOS 2027. As per  Bloomberg, Apple will finally let users describe the exact shortcut they want, in natural language, and the AI will create it for them.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 deal

Samsung’s foldables have consistently led the market in polish and software, but one complaint has followed the Galaxy Z Fold series for years: battery life. Now, a new leak suggests Samsung may finally be addressing that issue with the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8, alongside camera improvements and a thinner design.

According to a report from Greek publication TechManiacs, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could pack a larger 5,000mAh battery - a notable jump from the 4,400mAh cell used in the Galaxy Z Fold 7. If accurate, this would mark one of the most significant hardware upgrades to Samsung’s book-style foldable lineup in years.
