How to watch Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event live this afternoon

Today's the day: Here's how to watch Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event live

Samsung is holding its second major event of the year, and it’s expected to launch a new phone. That’s right, the next Galaxy Unpacked happens today, August 7. Like the February Galaxy Unpacked that saw the Galaxy S10 range revealed, we’re expecting an event packed to the rafters with new technology and developments.

But you don’t want to just read about the reveals after the fact — you want to experience them live, whether by watching a livestream or by keeping an eye on the developments as they flood in. How can you do that? We’ve got you covered. Here’s how to watch Samsung’s August Galaxy Unpacked event live.

How can I follow it live?

Galaxy Unpacked 2019 live stream

If you want to watch all the action unfold live, you can do so by tuning in to one of the many streams. You’ll find streams on Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked homepage, on Samsung’s Facebook page, and on Samsung’s official YouTube channel. The YouTube channel will also be the place to catch the footage on demand if you want to relive a particular moment, or are watching it later.

If you’re not able to watch the event live, then consider keeping a few Twitter feeds open. Our Digital Trends Twitter account will be keeping track of all the latest developments. We’ll also have people on the ground, so follow Mobile Editor Julian Chokkattu, Associate Mobile Editor Corey Gaskin, and Home Editor John Velasco for the latest news, events, and Samsung devices as soon as they see them.

When is it?

Galaxy Unpacked takes place in Brooklyn, New York on August 7. The event is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. ET — that’s 1 p.m. PT, or 9 p.m. BST — and with a device as noteworthy as the Note 10 range expected to be unveiled, don’t assume Samsung will wrap things up quickly. Set aside at least an hour to catch everything on livestream.

What’s expected?

What exactly are we expecting? We’ve covered that in our what to expect article, but to summarize briefly: A lot.

The biggest announcement is expected to be the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. There’s likely going to be a lot to unpack in that announcement, but one of the biggest new features of the Note 10 is that it’s expected to come in two models: The standard Note 10, and the supersized Note 10 Plus (or Pro). Both will get the usual specs bump, but the new design will definitely be an eye-catcher. Gone are the bezels, replaced with a Galaxy S10-like hole in the display for the selfie camera — a punch-hole display. But unlike the S10, the Note 10’s is expected to be centrally located at the top of the screen.

There’s also the Galaxy Book S, which is expected to be a full-fledged laptop, rather than a 2-in-1 convertible. We also expect to see more of the newly revealed Galaxy Tab S6 and Galaxy Watch Active 2. Most importantly, will the Galaxy Fold be in attendance? Samsung’s troubled folding phone is due to officially release in September, and Samsung could use Galaxy Unpacked to highlight the changes its made and try to rebuild lost hype for the device. If we’re lucky, we may also get an update on whether the Galaxy Home will ever see the light of day.

After months of rumors and two keynote events in May 2026, Google has finally released Android 17, the stable version. It's rolling out to eligible Pixel devices today, including models in the Pixel 6 lineup, all the way to the latest Pixel 10 series.

The stable build contains plenty of features showcased at The Android Show and Google I/O, but if you were hoping to get your hands on Gemini Intelligence, that will ship later this summer to “select advanced devices.” With that out of the way, here’s what Android 17 offers at launch.

Considering all the Android 16 QPR updates and the new ones announced at The Android Show and Google I/O 2026, Android 17 is definitely shaping up to be one of the most ambitious updates the company has shipped in years.

Between Gemini Intelligence that gets things done on your behalf, the new security features, and productivity-based features like App Bubbles, there’s a lot to unpack. The stable update is expected in June or early July 2026, but plenty of the upcoming features are already live on the Android 17 Beta version for compatible Pixel devices.

Boox Go 6 (Gen II) e-reader with stylus

Boox has launched the Go 6 (Gen II), its new 6-inch E Ink reader and the successor to the 2024 Boox Go 6. The new model keeps the small, lightweight format that made the original popular, but adds one major upgrade in the form of note-taking support.

The Go 6 (Gen II) is now available for pre-order through the official Boox shop for $199.99, with shipping expected to begin around June 17. It is still very much a compact travel e-reader, but the stylus support gives it a bit more flexibility than the 2024 model.
