Wire Fiber Phones Programs Security Service (WFPPS Service IT), a communications service provider and technology certification delivery partner, is expanding into security to offer products and services that protect businesses from emerging digital threats. This move is a natural progression for the company, reflecting its consistent growth, ability to identify and address business needs, and dedication to respond to industry challenges.

Glenroy Williams Jr., a technology expert and certified internal auditor, established the company to improve business processes and create secure environments. WFPPS Service IT has partnered with leading global technology providers to deliver cutting-edge solutions in data security, applications, equipment, certifications, website development, and IT project financing.

These partnerships have enabled the company to provide low-voltage cabling, fiber network modernization, and customized Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions. Human Resource Management (HRM) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) are also included in its offerings. All of these are developed for seamless connectivity, enhanced efficiency, and secure operations. WFPPS Service IT’s expertise eventually extended to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solutions.

“Our services weren’t built overnight,” Williams said. “Each service we offer is a response to a need we’ve seen in the market.” WFPPS Service IT’s expansion into cybersecurity is its acknowledgment of the alarming rise in cyber threats. Global cybercrime costs are expected to reach $10.5 trillion annually by 2025. Businesses of all sizes are targeted by ransomware, phishing attacks, and data breaches. Robust cybersecurity measures are urgently needed, given that the average cost of a data breach in 2023 was $4.45 million.

Williams notes that endpoint security seems to be an overlooked aspect of cybersecurity. “We’re seeing more and more instances of intruders accessing networks through personal devices, emails, and text messages,” he states. The company’s new security services are designed to protect businesses from both physical and digital threats.

Its Access Control Systems – featuring keycards, biometric scanners, and authentication mechanisms – help prevent unauthorized entry and safeguard sensitive areas. WFPPS Service IT can also detect and deter potential threats through CCTV Surveillance. In addition, it offers Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS), which use intelligent algorithms to identify and block cyberattacks before they compromise systems. Those needing real-time monitoring and rapid incident response to mitigate cyber threats can rely on WFPPS Service IT’s Network Monitoring and Incident Response.

Overall, these advanced security measures can help businesses to protect their operations, data, and assets against a complex threat landscape. It’s worth noting that the company venturing into security isn’t only motivated by the necessity to help businesses. Williams states it also stems from the desire to protect individuals.

The founder recalls a heartbreaking case where an elderly client fell victim to a cyber attack. The lady, at 109 years old, was hacked, and scammers accessed her bank account. “The financial loss is one thing, but the mental and emotional toll is devastating. She had to physically visit her bank to prove her identity. It’s exhausting for someone her age. This is why security is important. It affects people’s lives in ways we don’t realize,” he says.

Besides providing security solutions, WFPPS Service IT is committed to educating businesses and individuals about cyber threats. It offers cybersecurity awareness training, including phishing scam recognition, weekend boot camps, and security certification programs. The company is also launching an initiative with a local high school for students to gain hands-on experience in technology, engineering, and artificial intelligence (AI).

Its forward-thinking services and initiatives differentiate WFPPS Service IT in the space, and its streamlined consulting and support process only makes it stand out further. The company stands as a true partner, from the initial discovery phase (where the firm thoroughly assesses a company’s infrastructure and goals) to ongoing maintenance and strategic guidance. Moreover, WFPPS Service IT’s vendor-agnostic approach adds to its reputation as a reliable technology ally for businesses across industries.

“We’re not going to stop providing cutting-edge solutions and adding value to our clients,” Williams remarks. “Our goal is to be a leading force in business technology, and extending our offerings in security and educating the next generation of tech professionals is a step toward that.”

Your smart home stops at the back door — wire-free robot mowers want to change that
Grass, Lawn, Plant

Take a moment to think about how many things in your home are now automated. Your robotic vacuum cleans the floors. The temperature on your thermostat changes before you even arrive home. The camera by your front door recognizes people arriving.

Now go outside. You will find that your lawn is still waiting for you to take out a gas-powered mower and mow it every Saturday. Indoor smart home technology is relatively mature, but the moment you step outside, things get more complicated. This gap has been a persistent challenge for the smart home industry.
