Spotify is expanding its popular DJ feature to more listeners worldwide. The company is rolling out its AI-driven DJ to Premium users in new markets, including Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, and Switzerland, bringing the total to over 75 countries where the feature is available.
Alongside the market expansion, DJ is also getting four new languages: French, German, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese.
So what exactly is Spotify DJ, and what can it do?
If you haven’t tried it yet, Spotify DJ is an AI-powered feature that works like a personal radio host living inside your app. It uses your listening history, preferences, and Spotify’s own editorial expertise to deliver a curated stream of music, with short commentary between tracks.
The voice behind the original English DJ is modeled after Spotify’s own Xavier “X” Jernigan, and it delivers a listening experience that feels more alive than a regular playlist. It learns from your feedback too, so the more you interact with it, the better it gets at playing your song requests.
Spotify DJ also takes song requests, just like a real DJ

If you are a premium subscriber, you can also request songs from Spotify DJ using just your voice. Just hold the DJ button on the bottom right corner of the screen until you hear a beep, and ask for something specific, whether that’s a mood, a genre, an artist, or a vibe.
Spotify has been on a bit of a roll lately. To tackle the growing wave of AI-generated tracks, the platform has introduced verified artist badges so you always know when you’re listening to a real human or AI.
And in a move nobody quite expected, the app now lets you buy physical books and doubles as a fitness coach with guided Peloton workout sessions built right in.
